The Sun is now moving out of the somewhat constrictive, traditional and practical energy of Capricorn and into the alternative, quirky, humanitarian and individual energy of Aquarius. This moves us into an energy of possibilities and advancement.
Aquarian people have this amazing ability to think outside the box and to dance to their own drumbeat and it is their main purpose in life to embrace this energy so as it can bring out of them all that they have to share and instigate in this world. However, as Society, in general, does not really celebrate alternative or outside the box attitudes and behaviours, many Aquarian souls feel threatened by this and try to run away from being different, rather than embracing it.
As we move into the energy of Aquarius it is your time to investigate and explore what is different about you and how you can use this and develop this to bring something different to the table. For too long we have all felt compelled to go along with the status quo and to do as others do, but Aquarian energy does not gravitate in this way. It relishes what is different and it admires individuality, and so it can be used to really propel us forward and to bring in more innovation and ingenious thinking at this time. However, when we are surrounded by those who prefer to remain within the box and not to think for themselves or go against the grain, it can really dampen that energy that is destined to move us towards new solutions for this planet and ourselves.
Saturn, the teacher and disciplinarian, is also sitting in Aquarian energy and so during this month his energy will also be activated further, and this can encourage a lot of unrest as we all seek to not only explore who we truly are but to also speak up and act on what we feel is right for us. There is a lot of rebellious energy within Aquarius and this energy needs an outlet. So, we can use this energy to get angry and jump up and down demanding that we have what we want, or we can simply create what we want ourselves. Your inner capabilities and strengths can be strongly enhanced at this time but as it is currently Mercury Retrograde this is all about thinking, planning and re-visiting, rather than taking action. Saturn in Aquarius can help us to create structure and plans from innovative and alternative concepts that up until now may have seemed like pipe dreams or just too impractical or “out there”. And with the Sun also in Aquarius, we gain a deeper insight into what we are capable of when we allow ourselves to focus on thinking outside the box.
Now is the time to embrace those parts of us that until now have made us feel apart or different to others. We all have Aquarian energy somewhere in our Natal Charts and wherever this sits will be where you have always felt like you don’t quite fit in. So now is a good time to look to overcome any differences you may feel to others, and see what valuable perspective and outlook these can give you instead. It is time for all of us to use our unique and independent thinking to focus on solutions and not on fighting and arguing and complaining. That achieves nothing. And like the battle between the Eagle and the Snake – neither animal can win when it fights on the other animal’s terms. But when they stick to what they know and where they have the power they will always win. We cannot fight division with more division or hypocrisy with more hypocrisy. But we can start something new that has its own Universal laws and its own momentum and promise for the world, and this is truly where our value lies at this time.
I feel the month of Aquarius will be one of unexpected events, twists and turns and it is our job to navigate these whilst staying in our own energies. Observe what is going on and decide for yourself whether you wish to engage in it and be a part of it, or not. By choosing to not engage and to rather focus on what makes sense to you or where you can best use your energy for the highest good of all concerned, you play a part in the creation of a new way of being and a new earth.
You are an independent sovereign being that knows how to think and how to critically assess life and yourself – you do not need to be told how to do this by anyone else as you are your own leader. Use the energy of Aquarius this month to embrace your inner weirdo and to celebrate all and any parts of yourself that are unique. Don’t judge yourself for being different to others – celebrate it instead! Now is the time for the rise of the new thinkers, way-showers, and peaceful warriors. And now is the time to move forward in our thinking and innovation to become the problems solvers the world so desperately needs at this time. Aquarian energy is here to change the world, however so often its greatest fear is change itself. Time to step out of all of that fear so as we can all see within ourselves what unique gifts are waiting there to be shared with the world.
