On 19 April 2020, the Sun moved out of the busy, inspired and go-getter energy of Aries and into the methodical, grounded and uncompromising energy of Taurus. The zodiac starts with a Fire sign (Aries) and then moves into the energy of Earth, before moving into Air (Gemini) and then Water (Cancer). The introduction of Earth energy brings the necessary grounding, practical awareness and sustainable ability to take positive steps towards our dreams as well as making us much more aware of what we, as individuals and as a collective, can do towards changing this world we live in. With the energy of Aries, we stepped into our personal power for the first time in 2020, and over the last month, although most of us have had our physical sense of freedom limited, within our heads and hearts we were still free and could look to where we were headed and what we wished to create and achieve in 2020. Now as we move into the energy of Taurus we get to see “how” things can play out, and the ever-important understanding that if we wish for our lives to change, then we as individuals, need to take the necessary steps, do the inner work, and stand strong in who we are and what we believe.
Taurus energy is very sensitive, and especially so when it comes to the words and actions of others, and because Taurus is an Earth sign, what is felt and experienced here can very easily become ingrained and stuck. Taureans can hold a grudge longer than any other sign of the zodiac and it is not uncommon to hear them bring up grievances and hurts from years ago, that they are still stuck in and that they still cannot forgive long after the event has passed. It is, therefore, the greatest life lesson for all Taureans to learn forgiveness. And so, as we step into this month of the Sun shining in Taurus energy, we step into the need to forgive and to let go of all that pain and judgement we carry.
Forgiveness is one of the most powerful tools we possess, as when you can let go and forgive what has gone before, you set yourself free. Forgiveness, more often than not, needs to start with YOU being able to forgive YOU. When you forgive you liberate your mind, your heart and your soul, and you step into an energy where you do not allow what goes on outside of you to disturb what goes on inside of you. We are so programmed to take on what others say and do to us, and to see such things as a reflection or validation of who we think we are, when in fact all such things are just a perception or reflection from another soul, and they are not real. During this month it will be advisable for all of us to remember that:-
“What somebody else thinks of you is none of your business”
The energy of Taurus allows us to go about our lives and what needs to be done in a methodical way, and in this way we learn as we go, and we can also put into practise what we have learned from the past. This awareness allows us to slowly but surely take positive steps along our soul journeys and when we work at this pace we can be assured that we are not only fully informed, but fully capable of confidently and competently sharing our knowledge with the world.
The other major aspect of Taurean energy is its great need for security in life. Taurean souls often define how safe and secure they feel in life by how much they can earn and what material assets they can surround themselves with. All you Taureans out there just love the finer things in life, but you also tend to have a very good understanding that to acquire such things, you need to work hard. Taurean souls so often see their security as something that is defined and determined outside of themselves in material or financial terms, when in actual fact true security can only come from peace within. It doesn’t matter how much money you have or how many material assets you possess if you don’t feel good on the inside NOTHING that you own or earn is going to change this.
While we have been in lockdown one of the primary things that we have all been made very aware of is how well we can get on with less, how well we can recreate or reinvent what we have to make do, and most importantly how incredibly vital it is to have love, friendship and understanding in our lives. We have been learning the true importance of security through going within, working with what we have, and relying on ourselves to get by. And for many this has been life- changing as well as eye-opening.
As the Sun moves into Taurus, he joins the planet Uranus here. Uranus is the planet of liberation, rebellion, innovation and change and so when the Sun shines alongside this planet of action things start to happen. Uranus is also stimulating your primary focus for this month ahead; he is asking you to attune to your reactions and understanding of the world around you, and to use your intelligent mind to put your energy where it “feels” right for you. The energy that this is sending out for the year ahead could not be more applicable and appropriate at this time. With these energies setting the tone for the year ahead we will all have the opportunity to find our own inner truth, to go with what resonates with us and feels right to us, and to remain focussed and grounded within this. Uranus in Taurus is stimulating all of us during this 7-year transit to embrace our inner rebel and to have the confidence to stand in our truth. And then once we are at peace and aligned with what is for our highest good, to then act on this to take steady, practical and innovative steps to create a new world.
Taurean energy also loves to be hands-on, so the more you can learn and do along the lines of cooking, creating, gardening and working at that grassroots level, the more peace you will feel as well as the more you can develop these parts of yourself for practical and permanent use in the future. This time in lockdown has allowed all of us to perhaps explore these parts of ourselves and this month ahead gives us the opportunity to now lock these in place so as they can become a part of our everyday life for the future.
We can use this month ahead to look outside the box for our answers, to explore the many “truths” being put out there. The sensitivity of Taurus is so necessary at this time to highlight the needs of humanity and to encourage us all to do what is for the highest good of the entire planet. Under the influence of Taurus, it is easy to see and understand the work that needs to be done on an individual as well as on a collective basis, and it is also easy to put the necessary steps into place that will slowly but surely take us to where we need to go.
