Today we say goodbye to the solar month of Cancer and all the strong emotional and intuitive feelings we have been dealing with. It has been a great time to work on your self-love, and to use the experiences and people outside of yourself to build up a stronger sense of self-worth. When we are learning self-love and self-worth, more often than not, we learn this from our mis-treatment by others. We build ourselves up when others try to put us down and with this awareness within us, we now step into the solar month of Leo and the energy of fire.
Leo season is when we get to shine a little brighter, feel a little more confident and are a lot more comfortable about putting ourselves out there. Leo energy is the energy of the extrovert; the soul who is full of optimism, confidence and expression. And we can use this solar month to take major steps forward towards our goals.
The beauty of Leo season following Cancer season is that what we have felt and experienced last solar month has allowed us to see where we need to have more confidence and where we use can use our creativity and intuition to help ourselves. So, now that we are a little more aware of what we DON’T want from others, we can start to focus on and go after what we DO want from others.
The energies of this solar month are great for putting yourself out there, speaking up and doing those things that you have always wanted too, but to date have lacked the confidence to put into action. The confidence and optimism of Leo allows us to back ourselves in a way that we haven’t been able too since we were back in Aries season in mid-March. The fire signs are all about leadership and now that the fire has been lit once again, we can take action and follow our passion and desires.
The challenges of Leo season can be over-optimism and over-confidence. There is no doubt that most souls born under the sign of Leo carry a lot of self-confidence and self-assurance and even when they may not feel this, they can still act on it until they get where they need to go. The ability to think big and act big come very easily to this sign, and as wonderful as this can be, without grounding and practicality those thoughts and actions can go nowhere. Everything starts with a thought or an idea and from there an emotion gets attached too it and then we take action. But if those dreams are too far-fetched or too grandiose and are not backed up with solid foundations and practical steps, they cannot successfully materialise in the world.
So, this solar month DO think big, and do aim high as this is what you are worth, but at the same time be aware of what needs to be done, on a practical grounded level, to turn your dreams into reality. Perhaps you need to put a plan on paper first so you have something to work with, or, perhaps you need to have around you good people who you know can bring you back down to earth and give you perspectives and advice that will help you achieve your goals. Either way, during this time it will be good for you to share your ideas with those who can actually help you to get them off the ground, or bring you back down to earth.
What can be the kryptonite for Leo is lack of appreciation. All you Leo’s out there know what I am talking about. You have a deep need to be admired, appreciated and celebrated for what you bring to the table and when you don’t get this it can cut you to the core. The worst thing anyone can do to a Leo is ignore them or make fun of who they are or what they are doing. So, remember this when you are putting your dreams and plans out there this month and know that YOU are the only person who needs to validate and appreciate you. What others bring into your life should just boost this up further rather than answer any unfulfilled needs here. Doing anything in life because it is the right thing to do will always make you the better and bigger person.
Earlier this month the planet of communication, Mercury, moved into Leo for a quick 2 week stay and so will work hand in hand with the Sun for part of this solar month. Having Mercury here will add intelligence and creative communication to all that you do, assisting the Leo Sun and encouraging you further to be heard and to put you and what you believe in out there in some way. As we also have Mars in Virgo until the end of August, we also have this strong encouragement to attend to the details in our lives and to make sure that if we are creating something or moving forward in some way, that we have all our T’s crossed and our I’s dotted. I cannot help but feel that this is fantastic energy for writers. So, if you have been waiting for some inspiration or focus to write that book, or publish that article or finish that thesis, this is the time to do it!
The Sun in Leo will not only join Mercury here, but also Venus the planet of love and beauty and for 2 days we can blend all 3 of these energies making this an ideal time for speaking from the heart, putting a value on all that you are and can also give you a good eye for anything beautiful you wish to purchase or create. However, on 24 July Venus moves into Retrograde motion in Leo and it’s time to go within. Venus does not Retrograde as often as the other planets do due to her particular orbit around the Sun, so when this does occur it can have a major affect on our lives and how we see love, money and beauty. While Venus is in Retrograde, we get to go within and see where our belief systems sit when it comes to love and money in particular. What you believe or think is what you create, and so this is a wonderful opportunity for us all to look at our deep belief systems and see where they may be holding us back and getting in the way of our happiness and success. So do take some time over the next approximately 7 weeks to look within at how you feel about love and money. Do you truly believe that you are worthy of an abundance of both? And if there are any doubts there, where do they come from and how can you change these? A trick that always works for me is turning the question into a self-love question. How much do I love myself? If you can put a good worth on yourself then you have a much better ability of attracting and manifesting all that you deserve than if you have a low sense of worth. Our sense of worth is too often defined by how others treat us, when really how you treat yourself is all that matters. The answer to everything is LOVE and so when you doubt your worth, or doubt your ability to make money or doubt your ability to find love, simply say to yourself “I love you” and you will feel your energy shift and once that shift happens the doors to love, success and money can and will open.
I encourage you to use this solar month to explore and share your creativity and visions for the future. Leo the Lion has a huge heart and has so much to give so please do also spend some time this solar month opening up your heart and sharing your love with the world around you through loving thoughts and kind deeds.
