When Venus moves into Taurus she returns home and is therefore fully exalted and activated.  Venus rules our attitudes towards love, money and beauty and she also dictates our values and ethics.  Taurus is the sign of the zodiac most associated with money and security.

So, when the planet of money moves into the sign of money it’s pretty easy to guess what the focus is going to be – money!

Venus in Taurus raises our expectations and puts us in search of higher alignments and a better quality of life.  For some that can mean a push to make more money or charge more for what you do, for others it can mean understanding the true value of security. And for other people, it can mean the importance of luxury and surrounding yourself with the finer things in life.

So, we can use this energy to either be obsessed with our position and monetary achievements in life, or, we can use  this energy to understand and master the real meaning of security.

Money is the side-effect of doing the right thing

Venus in Taurus encourages us to aim high, to put more  of a value on ourselves and to focus on the importance of security.  She wants us to not only understand and love ourselves but to totally believe in ourselves and all that we are capable of creating in our lives.  Taurus is a slow-moving and methodical energy, so under this influence we are not about to take any crazy chances on get rich quick schemes or gambling to achieve our goals.  Rather it is a time to consolidate and then look to how we can improve, enhance or make better our current financial situation.  This can be extremely motivating energy but it can also run the risk of making us overly focussed on money and material benefits at the expense of our spiritual growth.  You see money is the side-effect of doing the right thing, and this is where the values of Venus can really kick in to guide us forward.

Yes, on one hand Venus gives us the inspiration and need to live better and more affluent lives, but she also reminds us of our values.  So, we can very successfully use this energy to put a worth on ourselves that is valid and aligned with who we truly are.  Although we may wish for more money or assets in life, Venus reminds us that when we are seeking things outside of ourselves to make us feel more secure and happy on the inside of ourselves, we are choosing things that are NOT entirely under our control, sustainable or what may actually be good for us.

You see the only true security there is in life is inner peace, and no amount of money can buy that

The only true, sustainable and reliable security there is in life is inner peace, and we can’t buy that!  Money gives us opportunities there is  no doubt about that, and owning a home, a car or some other valuable commodity can make us feel better about ourselves and “successful” in the eyes of the world.  But at the end of the day, we all know that some of the happiest people in the world are the poorest and some of the most miserable are the richest.

Venus in Taurus is encouraging us to align our inner values, needs and desires with what truly makes us feel secure and happy.  Venus also rules love and so it is this aspect of Venus that we can immerse ourselves in at this time to discover, for ourselves, what it is that really makes us feel secure and at peace in life. 

The more we practise love and give love to ourselves and others the more open we are to receive the same.  The more love we create within ourselves and our lives, the  more we have to give.  And the more love we receive and can surround ourselves with, the more secure we are ALWAYS going to feel.

Money isn’t everything – but you need to make friends with it

I mean, given the choice between living a life full of love and a life full of money – what would you choose?  Venus in Taurus will challenge this, whichever way you choose you will be challenged by the opposite until you reach that inner alignment that allows you to know how this best works for you.

Now I am not saying that money is not a good thing – it’s a wonderful thing and as we know if we want anything in this world to work for us and work in our favour, we need to love it.  So loving money is good – not as the “be all and end all” but simply because if we make friends with it, it will respond in kind.

So, it’s about balance, as so many things in our lives are.  We need to balance out our desire for material security outside of ourselves with our need for inner peace and security.

We can use this transit of Venus in Taurus to question ourselves and our relationship with money, security and love.  This transit will give us the confidence to put ourselves and our own needs first, but it will also ask us to examine these so as we are in alignment – are your inner needs and values being answered by your beliefs and outer actions?  And if not, what needs to change?  Blessings xox
