On 5 July 2025 Uranus, the planet of change and disruption, moves out of solid and dependable Taurus and into busy and mentally active Gemini. And all I can say is “hold on to your broomsticks people” – it’s going to get pretty crazy out there!
Uranus only changes signs of the zodiac every 7 years and so the lessons he is here to teach us, and the changes he brings, cover quite a long period of time and will always keep us on our toes in some way.
I liken Uranus to the proverbial “7-year itch”. This is because Uranus brings necessary change and it is his job to keep us moving; to push us out of our not-so-comfortable comfort zones; and to make sure that we are evolving and developing along our soul journeys. Uranus is also, similar to Neptune, a planet of higher awareness. Neptune’s higher awareness is more to do with our spiritual path and higher consciousness and Uranus’s higher awareness is about moving us forward towards the future and towards new ways of being in every way.
The planet Uranus represents freedom; in fact, he demands our freedom and this is why he rules Aquarius – the sign of the zodiac most known for dancing to its own drumbeat and operating outside the box. Uranus challenges the status quo, finds new solutions to old problems and rules all that is unusual, unorthodox or alternative. He encourages us to think bigger and to think with more innovation and ingenuousness.
Uranus is the planet of the future
Uranus brings change wherever he goes and 9 times out of 10 the changes he brings to our lives are most definitely NOT what we were expecting or even wanting. He is Mr Curve Ball and he makes no apologies for this, as without him pushing us and encouraging us to embrace change, we would all be stagnant and rotting in our comfort zones by now. So, he brings in radical changes to our lives and to the earth plane and although they are usually not at all what we thought was coming or perhaps not even part of our plan, the changes be brings are ALWAYS for our highest good and we can usually see this within a few weeks of the change(s) occurring. You see Uranus has the big picture, he knows exactly what you NEED for your growth and learning at any given time, and he acts on that. And I can promise you the more you resist the changes of Uranus the longer it will take you to move forward and fulfil your dreams. He knows what path you need to take, where you need to go and what you need to have with you, so allow the changes he brings and the flow will come a lot faster.
And then we have the energy of Gemini; always busy, full of curiosity, multi-talented, communication driven and a great lover of all things fun and adventurous. Gemini is probably the busiest sign of the zodiac and is often known as the “jack of all trades and master of none”. The insatiable curiosity of Geminis can mean that they are very easily distracted, do not finish what they start and are VERY good at communicating to others what THEY think others need to hear.
So, when we add the planet of change and forward thinking to the sign of busyness and diversity things are going to definitely amp up a level or two!
The last time Uranus was in Gemini was between 1942 and 1949. It was during the end of WW2 and was also there for the re-building after the war as countries around the world got back on their feet again. Uranus in Gemini brought in the innovation that was needed to move forward, it also brought in the ingenuity to make use of what we already have and make even better use of it; and it encouraged everyone to think more outside the box and to be multi-functional in their lives. Women who had taken over a lot of the “men’s work” while the men were away fighting stepped into their own a bit more and they and the world started to realise that women can be useful outside of the home as well! We also saw Treaties signed (communication) and people working together to find new solutions to old problems.
This new journey of Uranus through Gemini is destined to bring the innovative change and forward movement that we all need to create a new world. Uranus in Gemini will not allow new structures to be built on old, outworn and dysfunctional foundations – it wants something better and new to move forward with. And Uranus in Gemini is, along with Saturn and Neptune in Aries, reminding us all of the power of our own thoughts, ideas, initiatives and actions. The power is going back to the people, where it belongs, and we are all being encouraged to think for ourselves, to rely on ourselves and to believe in ourselves so as we can create a new world which will be for the highest good of ALL concerned.
Yes, the next 7 years of Uranus in Gemini are going to be full-on, but we need this momentum and intensity to move out of our old ways and into new ones. We need change and we need to embrace change, not run from it or resist it.
Change is the only constant in life
Change is the only constant in life and its not going anywhere so we have to go with it – we have to embrace and move with the changes so that we too can evolve and step out of our old habits and ways of being that no longer serve us.
The past and the way things have always been are slipping through our fingers like grains of sand. So be aware that if anything in your life is not working for you right now, that used to always work for you before, it’s because its old energy and the old energy cannot work in the new energies. And this is okay! Good things can and do come out of change, if you just allow them too.
Uranus in Gemini will lead us towards new technology and in particular the world of AI. AI has a place in this world and can do much to help and assist us but we must not allow it to think for us – that is the danger of AI. Historically humanity have bowed down to Kings and Queens of old, and more recently many bow down the power of Hollywood and celebrities. We cannot and must not ever bow down to the power of AI. It is a tool to be used and managed by us – we are not here to used and managed by it.
Uranus in Gemini will shake up and re-shape the world in many ways and it is our job to go with the changes but at the same time keep a handle on them too so as we are not in a free fall of uncontrollable change, rather we need to be in an upward surge of change fueled by expansion and growth. The next 7 years feel like they could be a case of everyone “feeling the fear and doing it away” and that is not a bad thing.
Use this energy to explore YOU; all the hidden and not so hidden facets of YOU. You might just be pleasantly surprised what you find…. Blessings xox
