We now find ourselves right in the middle of Eclipse Season. On 25 March 2024 we had a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra which allowed us all to re-evaluate our relationships with others as well as helping us to understand where we need to create more balance and harmony in our lives. For many people this Eclipse allowed them to move on from toxic or out-dated relationships, and for others they found that they could change their perspectives and opinions and be more open to how those around them see and understand things. This Eclipse allowed a lot of people to find resolution, one way or another, in their relationships which has allowed much peace, understanding and moving on to occur.
Eclipses always comes in pairs and so on Tuesday 9 April 2024 NZT we have a Solar Eclipse in Aries. This Eclipse is one of the major events of 2024 due to many factors, and it will herald change, revelations, transformation and massive healing.
The Sun will be in 19 degrees of Aries at the time of the Eclipse as will the planet of healing, Chiron. This is an incredible powerful meeting of two cosmic forces. And this is not the only conjunction that the Sun will activate at the time of this Eclipse. When two planets form a conjunction with one another they amplify and expand upon each other’s energy. The Sun will be in Aries at the time of this Eclipse and Arian energy represents; leadership, individuality, action, capability, independence and the ability to act on and for your own best interests. And when any planet sits in the energy of Aries it will always bring opportunity in that area.
And, if this isn’t enough, there are other planets, also sitting in Aries, adding fuel to the fire. The Moon will be in Aries at 22 degrees so also conjuncting the Sun and Chiron. Mercury will be at 24 degrees and so also in a conjunction with the Sun, Moon & Chiron and the North Node will be at 15 degrees and so it too will be in conjunction with the other 4 planets. This is NOT something that happens often, it is extremely rare and therefore carries very powerful energy for change, transformation, leadership and individuality. Venus will also be in Aries at this time but she will be at 4 degrees and so although her energy will add to the flavour of this Eclipse she is not as intimately involved as the other 5 planets. In astrology when we have 3 planets in the same sign of the zodiac it is considered a big focus, so when we have 6 – its double trouble!!
So, let me break it down for you:-
Mercury the planet of communication will be in Aries at this time but in Retrograde motion – adding confusion, disruption and change to the mix. As we know when Mercury is in Retrograde, we are best not to take action or try to make things happen. It is a time of reflection, revision, re-doing and re-evaluating our direction and our life paths at this time. So, although this eclipse may undoubtedly bring up things in your life that need to be changed or that you need to take advantage of, it may be difficult to do so. Aries, as the first sign of the zodiac, has a need to take action; to make things happen, to take charge and also to go it alone. And it doesn’t like to have to repeat things or do them over, so be aware of taking some time to do your due diligence before you rush into anything.
The North Node is also in Aries at this time. The North Node in Aries is our destiny at this time and so this transit comes with lots of opportunities for us to go it alone, start something new or take on leadership in areas that may or may not be familiar to you. The great healing energy that this Eclipse will bring can mean that any fears that you have had to date that you can’t go it alone or stand on your own two feet may be healed allowing you to take on what is being presented to you without fear and with the conviction that you CAN do this.
Also, in Aries at the time of the Eclipse will be, of course, the Moon. The Moon represents our emotions and when she sits in the energy of Aries, we can be very fired up emotionally and want to passionately act on what we are feeling. This energy gives us the power to embrace empathy and compassion and to use these energies to bring changes in our own lives and how we see and relate to others. And to also see the big picture more. However, I feel the most powerful thing that the Moon will be bringing will be the strong belief in yourself as an individual. The power and passion of Aries can help you to rise above anything petty in your life and to use your awareness and understanding to help and to heal things on a big scale – to see that we are all one even though we are unique individuals too.
Chiron is known as the wounded healer and this planet teaches us about the wounds of our past that may be stopping us from moving forward or reaching our potential in this lifetime. When he sits in Aries, he is teaching us all about the wounds we need to heal within us that make us feel like we are not good enough, or that we cannot stand on our own two feet, or take charge of our lives and take charge or lead others. So, when the Sun and Chiron collide in Aries, we have an incredibly powerful dynamic that gives us the ability to take action on what needs to be healed to shine light on our greatest gifts so as we can love ourselves for all that we are. Incredible healing energy will be unleashed at this time and this will bring revelations and the need to take action on all that comes next.

Venus the planet of love, beauty and money. Although Venus will be sitting in Aries at the time of the Eclipse her influence won’t be as powerful as the other planets I have mentioned. However, she will still have a say in things. The energy of Venus in Aries will help us to see what our own needs truly are and to be a lot more aware of what is fair and just in our financial worlds and in our relationships. She will also help to instigate any changes needed here. Venus in Aries helps you to put a true worth on yourself and to believe in yourself and all that you personally bring to the table.
The path that an Eclipse moves over, or the countries and areas that will be able to see the Eclipse in its entirety are often the most strongly affected by an Eclipse. In the case of this Eclipse and the Lunar Eclipse of 25 March, the path is over Mexico and parts of America, in particular Texas. This could mean that major changes will occur in these parts of the world around the time of the Eclipse and/or up to 6 months later. This Solar Eclipse will not be visible in New Zealand but we will still feel the effects of it.
And, just if all of the above is not enough excitement for one Eclipse – we will also be dealing with a conjunction between Saturn and Mars in Pisces. Saturn in Pisces is asking us to find structure and discipline in what we wish to create and have in the “real” world and to understand the importance of putting our own needs first. And Mars in Pisces wants to fight everybody else’s battles as well as its own. The challenge here will be to stay focussed on what is for your own highest good and not go charging off to rescue and save everyone else instead. Remember, first you heal yourself – then you heal the world.
Plus, we still have that heavy conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus which is slowly but steadily bringing out all that has been hidden from us. These two planets are helping reshape the world we live in and as Uranus likes to keep us on our toes, the changes and upheavals these two will bring will be outside the box, unexpected and most definitely there will be a few curve balls in there too. But, the most powerful thing about this conjunction and amplification of Uranian energy is to activate our higher thinking and higher awareness so as we can ALL see very clearly what needs to change and what needs to go.
In summary, the total Solar Eclipse on 9 April is the Earth’s and our chance to make the necessary changes that are needed for us to all evolve and transform out of the broken, unbalanced and corrupt world that we currently live in. Change, as we know, is the only constant and when we can’t make the necessary changes ourselves the cosmos and the planet herself conspire together to bring these to us. Have no fear of what may come; as long as you are prepared to change, to go with what feels right to you and to step up in your life you are on the right track. Everything needs to change; we all know that but we often resist what we don’t understand or don’t know what the full result of will be. Therefore, we must trust; trust in the process and that the Universe has our backs and will support all the necessary changes we need to go through. On the other side of change and on the other side of fear are always solutions and happiness, and there is always a reward for you being prepared to embrace both.
Be aware of all that presents itself to you now and over the next few weeks in particular and don’t be afraid to take new opportunities and to step up and stand up for yourself in every way. It is Mercury Retrograde so not a great time for initiating new things, but if the opportunity is there you must take it.
