Within Astrology and playing a significant part in our destinies we have the Nodes. We have the South Node which represents your most recent relevant past life to this lifetime, and directly opposite this, you have your North Node, which represents your destiny and direction for this lifetime. Your South Node represents what has gone before and what you have mastered before, and therefore this part of you is something that is very familiar to your soul. Your North Node is all about your destiny and reactions for this lifetime, based on what you have learned before and also what you may not have mastered before. So, we are moving forward armed with the experience of other lifetimes towards a new way of being and living our lives.
The Nodes move from sign to sign every approximately 18 months and so their influence is very important for keeping us all on track globally, as well as keeping us on track within our own soul journeys too. For the last 18 months or so, we have had the South Node in Capricorn and the North Node in Cancer. They have now moved out of the Capricorn/Cancer polarity and into the Sagittarius/Gemini polarity. So, it is a wonderful relief to have one less planet in Capricorn and to also know that we have new support and a new direction towards our destinies.
While the South Node was in Capricorn he was assisting us in the breakdown of the old ways; he was showing us all through what is happening globally as well as what is happening in our personal lives, that the old ways have not adapted and evolved to support humanity, and that the way out of this is through love and understanding. With the North Node in Cancer opposing the South Node for the last 18 months or so, we were presented with a glimmer of hope, a light at the end of the tunnel and the absolute realisation that the only way forward is through love, compassion and understanding. As the Nodes transited through this polarity and out the other side we were shown and given insight into how we can still have all the structure, organisation, discipline and success that we need when we treat each other will love, compassion and respect. And that the only way forward is NOT through inequality, injustice and division, but rather through understanding, compassion and unity.
Now the Nodes have changed signs and they are now creating a polarity with the South Node in Sagittarius and the North Node in Gemini (the Nodes are the only placements in astrology that move backwards all the time) and this transit will continue through until January 2022. So, it is out with the old and in with the new! It is now time for us all to move out of what we have been told and taught to believe towards what feels right for us to believe and what we need to learn and explore to confirm and compound our new destiny.
The South Node in Sagittarius is all about the expansion of the mind through learning, theories, ideologies and historical facts etc. It is a highly intelligent energy that is always in pursuit of what more it can acquire to confirm what it already believes. It is not an energy that is used to questioning the status quo, more it likes to expand upon and develop what it already knows so as it can be the best it can possibly be in that particular area or arena of knowledge. So, this is what we are coming from – this where we have been in many lifetimes – we have done this before, there is no need to go there again as it is now time to evolve out of this.
The North Node in Gemini is all about curiosity, questioning the status quo, and experiencing from a hands-on or grassroots perspective what change could look like and be, as well as encouraging us all to fully understand and appreciate what we already have and what we can transform this into. Gemini energy likes to break the rules, it likes to find a different angle, a more innovative way, as it is fully aware that one size does not fit all! Gemini energy shows us that there are at least 2 sides to every story and that the more we can explore every angle, the more we get to see the bigger picture. And from this point, we are able to make choices and decisions that are more informed and evolved, more outside the box and more able to move and grow with the times.
We are moving away from a time where we all had to achieve our success in life in the same way as it has always been defined, and into a time where success can mean so much more. We are seeing that it is not necessary to impress others and to compete against one another by being the same and only performing in a certain way. Rather what will be shown to us during this transit will be how important it is to work with what you have already got and who you already are, because whether you fit in or tick all the boxes or not, you are still here for a purpose and you still have a light that shines and you most definitely still have something to offer the world around you.
Family and community will become a lot more important to all of us over the next 18+ months and from this new focus we will all gain a greater understanding of what benefits us and can be of use to us in our daily lives. What is going on right now in our homes and towns will be more important than what we are striving to achieve in the outside world. We can use our innovative, questioning and mentally alert minds to make a difference in our immediate worlds. We will be asked to focus on what we can do right here and right now, and we will all discover much about our beliefs, capabilities and personal power. It is a time for us all to stop and smell the roses so as we can not only appreciate what we have but also make the best use of it as well.
The last time we had the Sagittarius/Gemini polarity was from October 2001 until April 2003, and so if you can think back to that timeframe in your life you can expect the same opportunities and experiences to present themselves to you over these next 18 months. And if you were born between December 1945 and August 1946, or August 1964 and February 1966, then you are in your “Nodal Return”. This means that this should be a time when you can move forward with ease and when things that are meant to be for you will fall into place without too much work or effort on your part. It is a great time for new relationships and new opportunities that are very much your stepping stone to a new life and a new you. These changes will usually feel good, these are usually the types of changes that you have been waiting for, rather than the types of changes that you know you probably should make, but you really don’t want too! So, once again look back to what was happening 2001 – 2003 for some clues into what might be on the cards for you over the next 18 months. Wherever your Nodes sit in your Natal Chart will show you the arena these new opportunities and experiences will occur in, and how you can best take advantage of this transit.
So, be open, question everything and move out of feeling that you have to do things in life because they have always been this way, or because this is what you have been told to believe or follow. You were blessed with your own divine intelligence, and you are here on the earth plane at this time of great change for a reason – and that reason is to be part of the change that is so desperately needed here. Honour your thoughts, feelings and experiences and be willing to learn and evolve through your actions and what you do. You are a soul on a journey, and it is your destiny at this time to discover your truth. Blessings xox
