We are finally out of Mercury Retrograde – hooray!!  Don’t know about everyone else out there but I found this to be a very tricky Mercury Retrograde due to the fact that for the most part, Mercury was retrograding in Gemini where he is very much at home and therefore much trickier, more chaotic and just plain difficult!  But it’s over now, and like any other Retrograde we come out the other side with a bit more focus, a bit more intent and a more informed and researched perspective on who we are and where we are going.  We now have the green light to move forward on projects, commitments and intentions and we have plenty of support from the cosmos to do so.

The big planets are one by one moving into Retrograde encouraging and in some cases, forcing, us to do the inner work; to face our shadow sides and to make peace with who we truly are.

Uranus, the planet of sudden change and independence, is currently in Retrograde in Taurus asking us to revisit and relook at ourselves and how we live our lives.  Are we strong and confident in who we are and what we do, or are we too reliant on others and on money coming in to allow ourselves that type of courage and independence?  Uranus Retrograde in Taurus is a good time to look at your skill set and see for yourself where you can apply yourself better, or where you need more structure or systems, and where you need to forgive yourself for what has gone before.

Pluto, the mighty transformer, in Retrograde is taking us to visit that shadow side of ourselves to see where it holds us back and where we hold on to what no longer serves us well, often simply because it is a habit or an outdated belief.  We are all here to be our own Masters, and we cannot be in our mastership while we allow attitudes, habits and “stories” to control us.  Pluto is the ruler of the underworld, and it is his job to direct us to acknowledge, without fear, our shortcomings, so as we can transform our weaknesses into our strengths.

And now Saturn, the great taskmaster and teacher, is taking his turn to teach us his lessons.  Saturn is currently in Aquarius which is not a sign of the zodiac where he feels particularly comfortable.  Saturn LOVES structure, focus, discipline etc and Aquarius loves to do things its own special quirky way.  So, Saturn can have a hard time trying to tame this energy and therefore it will be a time where you will question yourself, your direction and who you truly are.  And this is a GOOD thing, so long as you don’t get stuck in unnecessary self-judgement.  Saturn Retrograde in Aquarius gives us the opportunity to look at where we see things differently to others, or do things differently to others, and to see how we can make use of this to help ourselves as well as to help humanity in general.  The Age of Aquarius is all about humanity understanding, accepting and embracing the many alternative and innovative ways there are to tackle a task.  It is bringing us incredible advancement, insight and ingenuity that we can use to navigate these challenging times without the fear that we are different.  It is time, time for ALL of us to make peace with what we feel is not quite right, or not quite acceptable about ourselves.  For so long as you have friction and non-acceptance of yourself you cannot expect others to go along with you, but when you stand proudly and confidently in your differences and in your ingeniousness then people will not only be attracted to you, but they will also want to know what you know, and to work with your innovations and to dance to another drumbeat.

When we go within and see things about ourselves that we don’t like or that we see as being inadequate or not good enough we have a choice to change these things.  The change can be as simple as just accepting that this is you, or it can be as challenging as doing something radical to change it.  We don’t always have to take giant steps to change ourselves, sometimes all we need to do is tell ourselves it’s okay to be different, it’s okay to do it your way and it’s okay to do you!

So, over the next approximately 5 months of this deep journey into your more rebellious and alternative side, I encourage you to look to see the positive attributes of who you truly are.  Maybe you lack the discipline to get things done, and so this Retrograde period gives you the opportunity to look at why this might be, and what you could do to change it.  But the first thing you need to do is accept this part of you for being a part of you, and not judge it or condemn yourself because of it – that solves nothing and only makes the problem harder to solve.  Rather, you need to change it gently yet assertively to something you can work with for a happier and more self-assured future.

Remember, you have done nothing wrong.  You are a soul on a journey of learning and its not easy, but you’ve got this!  I believe in you and in your soul’s journey and I know you can too.  Saturn saves his best rewards for those who are prepared to do the hard yards, and they are definitely worth working and waiting for.  Blessings xox
