Saturn, our mighty teacher and disciplinarian, moves into Retrograde motion in Aries from 27 July until 10 December 2026.  Saturn will join Neptune already sitting in Retrograde in Aries bringing these 2 powerhouses of change into yet another deep alignment with one another.

Saturn and Neptune have been dancing together in the cosmos for many months now – first in Pisces and  now in Aries.  As they worked through Pisces, they were, together, encouraging us to  harness the dream; to fantasize, imagine and create our greatest desires; to give them content, belief, credence and purpose moving forward.  Once they moved into Aries their job was to take that highest dream and ideal that you have been imagining, and that the collective of humanity have also been imagining, and create structures, foundations and grounded and sustainable ways to make them come true.

The way of the Spiritual Warrior

For most of 2026 Saturn and Neptune have been moving  through the early degrees of Aries bringing huge revelations and awarenesses to us all of what our higher purpose is and the motivation and intention to align this with who we truly are.  It is, and has been, the time of the Spiritual Warrior and now this Retrograde turn its time to once again go within and re-asses our way forward.  From a collective perspective the revelations and clarity that Aries has brought have released us from the illusion and allowed us to see the truth.

Saturn is the planet that demands focus, discipline and hard work from us. I liken Saturn to that teacher you had at School who you may not have liked very much, but who to this day, you can still remember for what they taught you.  And that teaching may not have been ideal, pleasant or easy, but you cannot deny what you have learned from these lessons and how they have shaped you and your world. 

So, Saturn Retrograde in Aries is our opportunity to go within and really look at our authenticity and alignment.  2026 is the Year of Sovereignty and this means it is the year that humanity have chosen to take their power back. The belief that we need to be “governed” by a person or people outside of ourselves is, when you think about it, quite ludicrous and this is what we are all waking up too. Saturn Retrograde in Aries asks us to come back to ourselves to the “I am” frequency where all that is relevant is you.  We are being asked to get that balance right between putting ourselves and our dreams first, and being a part of the big picture too. 

Inner Alignment

Aries energy is a very black and white; the energy of the leader, the individual and the one who is not afraid to go it alone.  BUT Aries energy is also one of the most self-serving and egotistical signs of the zodiac too.  As it is the first sign of the zodiac it naturally likes to  believe that it should come first; and its needs, beliefs and words are all that matter.  So, although this is a very powerful energy to focus on you and what you want, you first have to be sure that what you are going after, representing or wanting for yourself is aligned with who you truly are and that dream you have been wanting to manifest for so long.

You see, you can for example be a teacher of Mathematics and you can be very good at this.  It could well be what you have done for many years and you have made progress here, had a reliable income here and existed in this way for quite some time.  But you are not feeling fulfilled or content in this.  You love art, and you would love to not only explore this part of yourself but perhaps teach this instead.  So, your inner world is asking you to explore and express a part of you that is close to your heart.  These thoughts and desires are not going away, but your logical ego driven mind is telling you “you won’t make any money as an art teacher”, or, “you are not nearly good enough to go down that road”, or, “stick with what you know – its work for you for this long”, etc, etc.  And so you are in a state of misalignment.  Your heart and soul are asking you to embrace change and step into a new direction, but your logic and head are telling you it’s not a good idea.  So, what you are doing and creating outside of yourself, is not in alignment with what you truly want and you are not standing in your sovereignty.

Throughout our lifetimes we will have literally millions of thoughts and ideas that come and go.  Lots of fantasies, imaginations, dreams and schemes will come and go from your mind.  However, within these there will ALWAYS be certain ideas or dreams that have never gone away.  The ones that just keep coming back every now and then to remind you.  These thoughts and dreams are part of your destiny, part of something genuine that you chose to explore in this lifetime, and the reason they keep coming back to you is that Spirit are reminding you of this.  They are bringing those thoughts and opportunities back to you again and again until you finally act on them because Spirit knows that when you do, your life will change and you will be addressing and working on some of your greatest life lessons and achievements.

So, during this Retrograde period don’t be afraid to dive deeply into those dreams and fantasies to see what structure, plan and program you can create to bring them to life and to make them real. 

Making your dreams come true

As much as Aries energy is the energy of the leader and individual, it naturally has its shadow side as well and this can and will come up during this time as well.  The shadow of Aries is the belief that you are not good enough, cannot do it alone and are not capable of leading others. Saturn in Retrograde in Aries will push those buttons and so it is also essential during this time that you rise above any fears or limitations that may have that lead you to believe that you are not able to make your dreams come true. 

Saturn is there to reassure you that if you give it your all, if you really do the mahi, apply and discipline yourself and just keep going in the direction you wish too, you can make your dreams come true.  But it will need your focus and hard work.

We can use this Retrograde period to further examine and feel into our dreams and desires so as we can understand and know wthat the next step is that we need to take, or how to put in place what is necessary for growth here.  And we can also look at anything that triggers those feelings of not being good enough etc, and how we can heal and overcome these so our inner confidence is displayed in our outer productivity and actions.  It is a good time to try to take the emotions and self-created limitations out of what you wish to achieve and to look at it all more logically.  Do not allow fears from the past or wounds of lack of self-belief get in the way of your dreams – they are just a test and an insight into your alignment and authenticity.

Use Saturn Retrograde to get organised, get committed and get sure on what you want to achieve – to find the missing details, to fill in the gaps and to create a solid foundation that you can, once Saturn moves Direct again, put in place with confidence and surety that it will take you and your dreams in the exact direction you wish to go.  Blessings xox
