On 25 May 2025 Saturn, our taskmaster and teacher, will move out of dreamy illusional Pisces and into clear and concise Aries. When any planet changes signs of the zodiac it is a big deal, however when that change means moving from the last sign of the zodiac back to the first, it has a whole new and even more powerful meaning.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and so Saturn’s move here ends an approximate 30-year journey through all the signs of the zodiac bringing us back to point 0 again. And of course, over the last 30 years since we were last there, we have all changed considerably and so this is our opportunity to start a whole new journey, using the wisdom and experiences of the last 30 years, to step into who we truly are and our destiny.
The last time Saturn transited through Aries was from June 1996 until August 1999, and so if you can remember what was going on for you back then, it can be a useful gauge for what is going to come up for you over the next 3 years.
So, lets take a look at what Saturn in Aries is all about.
Saturn is the most important planet in the Natal Chart simply because wherever he is sitting or moving through your Chart he is bringing learning, restriction, karma, focus, discipline and fear. It is Saturn’s job to encourage us to face up to what we fear; to work hard to achieve our goals; to take responsibility for ourselves and our actions and to also bring us the rewards we are due for our hard work. He helps us to understand that if we want something from life, we need to work for it, and that if we want something to grow in our lives, we must give it focus and discipline. He restricts what we are doing so as we can be sure we are doing it right. He has no time for anything fly by night and he does not promote or support taking crazy chances on things, trying to fake your way through anything, or, shirking what is yours to be responsible for. Saturn is all about the due diligence, the building of solid foundations and the hard work and discipline we must put upon ourselves if we are to achieve our goals.
The sign of the zodiac that rules Saturn needs to also be looked at as this gives us another layer of the filter we are working through. Capricorn rules Saturn and is known as the most grounded, ambitious, hard-working and stubborn signs of the zodiac. It likes things to stay the same, it is often conservative and traditional, it is determined to get where it needs to go in life and it can be relentless in the pursuit of its goals.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and therefore carries the energy of “me first” and “I am”. Arian energy is very black and white, spontaneous and action based. It sees and it does – acting very much on what is happening in the moment and often has no fear of getting it wrong or going in the wrong direction. It favours action and passion over due diligence and prudence, and likes to take the lead in all that it does. Arian people are not renowned for taking their time with things or thinking them through. They are usually very headstrong, very committed to their ideas but can lack the ability to follow through. The chase for many Arians is often much more interesting than the catch!
Aries is ruled by Mars and Mars is the planet of action, determination, motivation, passion and war. Under the influence of Mars we want things our way and we are happy to fight for that right. We want to take charge and/or do our own thing, but we do not like to listen to others or take instruction. And Mars has the most driven and unlimited energy of the zodiac.

Saturn will restrict the action of headstrong Aries by slowing things down and creating a bit of hand brake on our lives and our journeys to make sure that we have not missed anything, and that we are paying attention to the essential details and steps that need to be taken for us to be successful.
Saturn in Aries will also bring back our sense of individuality and personal power – something that all the Piscean energy of the last years has taken away from us. With Saturn in Aries what YOU think and what YOU want will take centre stage and we will all feel a lot more confident and “right” to put ourselves first in every way.
Saturn in Aries will also reveal what is not working and out-dated in our personal lives and in the world around us. The watery energy we have been under for so long has meant that we have all procrastinated, dilly-dallied, and found reasons not to do what we often knew we should. But Aries energy is all about taking action, getting things done and stepping up – no excuses.
Saturn in Aries will help us ALL to step back into our own personal power and to think and create for ourselves all over again. It will feel like the most sensible and “right” thing to do to put yourself and your needs first and due to this we will all have to watch our tempers and be open to compromise too.
So, this 3-year transit will be pivotal for humanity in finding its strength and power once again so as we can take action to create the new world, we all wish to live in and, to celebrate our differences. Aries is the sign of leadership, but we can’t all be leaders. Therefore, some tools everyone will need to learn and make more us of over the next 3 years are tolerance, acceptance and patience.
Pluto making his powerful journey through Aquarius is encouraging and allowing each and every one of us to be who we truly are; to celebrate our differences yet still be able to come together as one. And he is also helping us all to find the new solutions to the old problems of the earth plane.
Neptune is also in Aries – he led the way for Saturn and since he made his shift into Aries on 31 March 2025 many many things have been revealed to us both in our own lives and in the world around us. While he was in Pisces for the last 15 years, we could not see the woods for the trees. Everything was an illusion, everything was buried deep and everything was swept under the carpet. Neptune in Aries will not tolerate this – Neptune in Aries demands to see the facts and to reveal what is not true. While Neptune was in Pisces, we all learned about, dabbled into and played around with spiritual beliefs and practises – we gained knowledge and expanded our awareness in many ways. However, we didn’t really use any of this new-found knowledge, we just played with it. Now we get to take this knowledge and use it – we step into our “Spiritual Warrior” phase and we use our higher awareness to move forward and find our solutions.
With 2 of the most powerful placements in the zodiac set up to now create a whole new cycle we find ourselves at what is known as the “creator degree” of the zodiac – the most powerful energy available to start again. We ALL have a chance to re-set our lives and where we are going and the key to making the most of this energy is “self-belief”. And that is what Aries will always teach us.

Saturn is giving our dreams and ideals structure so as we can make them our reality and see them for the vital tools that we need to survive and thrive in the 2020’s and beyond.

Spiritual discipline is what is being asked of you so you can see your life as well as operate your life from the highest perspective. This means stepping out of the pettiness of the 3D world; knowing what is yours to be responsible for and what is not; aligning who you are on the inside with who you want to be on the outside; being authentic and real; and being completely and unapologetically YOU.
Under this influence we can harness the power of self-belief (Aries) and fuel it with self-discipline (Saturn) to achieve our goals. But the crucial key to the success of this is “alignment”. We must align our inner feelings, motivations, needs and desires with what we show the world. Be careful what you wish for as it is the inner thoughts that create the outer product.
