On 18 April the planet of structure, karma and discipline, Saturn, will form a conjunction with the planet of action, determination, volatility, Mars, and this will cause the sparks to fly both in our personal lives and on the global stage. This powerful conjunction will last around 10 days in total, but will ease off somewhat during this time.
Mars does not like to be held back and when he is at home in Aries, he is particularly powerful and particularly determined to put his own needs first. And so, this is what we will all be feeling in our personal lives. We are going to resist and not want to be a part of anything that doesn’t align with us or support us. There is no more “determined to get its own way” placement than Mars in Aries – it is incredibly driven and focussed on its own needs, beliefs and wants and it will do everything and anything it can to make these happen with relentless force and energy.
Saturn in Aries is reminding us all of the need for structure, foundations and responsibility in all that we do and create. Saturn says if you want your dreams to come true, then you must focus, discipline yourself and create a solid foundation to work from. He is all about the due diligence, the weighing up of options and the need to operate in a way that is reliable, constructive and hardworking – Saturn doesn’t take chances or gamble – instead he works on the belief that everything needs to be based on something solid if it is to work.
So, when these two powerhouses come together in a conjunction (a mutual amplification of one another) whatever actions you take will have consequences. So, pick your battles!!
It is vital that you stop and think about what you are aiming for, or trying to make happen to be sure that it is truly for your highest good. Mars is reactive energy, it wants results and action and it wants them NOW. Saturn on the other hand would rather you took your time to do it right.
If there is an obstacle in your way at this time, rather than bulldoze through it, stop and think about why it might be there. Perhaps it’s something that needs to be overcome first, or perhaps that obstacle is there to show you that this is NOT the way forward for you at this time. Mars will want you to push through, to demand that it works for you right now but sometimes “rejection is protection”.
Saturn has a very good reason for everything that he does. He restricts us so we can do things with better focus and awareness, and he holds us back when he knows that more planning or structure is needed for success. He feels like the bad guy who just wants to spoil our fun or keep us in check, but he is always working for your highest good and what you need to LEARN from any situation you are going through.
From a global perspective undoubtedly, things will heat up and rev up even more than they already are and around the world Leaders and Rulers will have to also be made very aware of the consequences of their actions – and particularly so if these actions are based on anger, ownership and monopoly. One of the biggest challenges for Aries energy is its inability to listen and to take the back seat to anything or anyone. Aries will always want to take the lead and do its own thing and this will also be heightened at this time resulting in the possibility of more disharmony and global imbalance.
As volatile and reactive as this energy is, it can also be utilised to give you the motivation and determination you need to get something over the line; to take a chance on something new; to gain an important victory and to give yourself the unlimited energy you may need to step up and speak up. The challenge for you is to choose well, and to not rush to cross the finish line before you have even started the race.
