Pluto is one of the “big boys” of astrology. He is the planet of transformation – the planet that takes no prisoners and demands that we surrender to and do it his way.
Around 2 years ago he made his major move out of Capricorn, where he had resided for around 17 years, and into Aquarius further activating and empowering the Age of Aquarius. Pluto in Capricorn unapologetically pointed out to us what the patriarchal, top down feeding, corporate and greed-based world looks and feels like. It was a time of “one size fits all” and a time where stepping outside the box or doing things alternatively was actively discouraged and where conformity and bending the knee were encouraged as the only way forward. And we have come a long way since then!
On 16 October 2026 Pluto completes his Retrograde journey through Aquarius and moves into a Stationary position, ready to turn Direct in the next few days. Now as we know when a planet moves in Retrograde motion we are being encouraged to go within and look at what we need to learn and process within ourselves. Pluto has been in Retrograde in Aquarius since May 2026 and so we have had around 5 months of his inner teachings addressing some of our deepest fears.
Pluto represents the transformation from the slave to the master
Pluto is all about transformation; the surrendering of what no longer serves us and keeps us small and in “slave mentality”. He shows us where we need to change so we can step into our true power and not be negatively influenced by the shadow side of ourselves. We all have our shadow side(s) and the transformation of the shadow into the light is what allows our souls to evolve and for each of us to step into our true power and authenticity, and mastering ourselves as souls having a human experience.
So, while Pluto was in Retrograde in Aquarius we were all being asked to go within and look at those parts of ourselves that make us feel like we don’t quite fit in, or where we feel very different to others, or where we see things alternatively, or where we hide away what sets us apart from others. For too long such things have been condoned, put down and trivialised simply because they went against the status quo. We, for too long, were taught to fear our differences and to fly under the radar for fear of becoming a target. We have all had 5 months to see what sets us apart from others, where we are different, and rather than bury this even deeper within, we are being asked to step into and embrace this way of being.
Any fears we had of being different and not being accepted because of this were investigated internally and due to the power of the Age of Aquarius at this time, most of you will have made peace with these parts of yourselves and are perhaps more than ready to start sharing these and putting them out there, which is where Pluto Direct in Aquarius settles into his groove.
A time to celebrate our differences and still come together
Pluto Direct in Aquarius encourages stepping away from any traditional, conservative or patriarchal ways of being and doing things. More and more it is becoming not only acceptable but celebrated to find new solutions to old problems and to speak up about and show others a different way of being, doing and achieving. Success and fulfilment are moving away from links to your bank account, University education or status and moving towards innovation, diversity and authenticity.
My most favourite thing about Aquarian energy is its celebration of everything that makes us individuals and unique ALONGSIDE its understanding and promotion of community and working together as one.
Pluto will be Direct in Aquarius until 8 May 2027 and this will give us around 8 months to begin to establish our unique and innovative selves. Pluto will be in Aquarius for around 19 years, so this is just the beginning stages of a whole new way of being and so the sooner you jump on board, the sooner it all starts to shift. On a personal level this transit can allow us to experiment with sharing our alternative ways of doing and seeing things and to find like-minded souls around us that we can work with to further develop these parts ourselves. And on a global level we will see an even more substantial and sustainable move towards community based, non-centralised and innovative ways of existing and moving forward. A “one size fits all” and “we must all do as we are told” way of being is no longer acceptable, workable or even wanted by humanity and we are slowly but surely shrugging off and eliminating this out-dated conditioning.
The Empire is falling and the power is going back to the people
The old ways and all that they represent are slowly but surely crumbling around us and in doing so they are making way for a new way of being – a New Earth. And it is our job to keep moving in this direction; to keep finding new solutions to old problems and to not be afraid to share whatever your solution, understanding or concept may be. Thinking for ourselves and embracing our true sovereignty is the name of the game with Pluto in Aquarius and the more we can do this within our own lives, the more it not only gives us confidence in this outside of ourselves, but the more it shifts the energy of the planet towards a new future and allows the old ways to permanently collapse. We cannot and must not try to rebuild the broken foundations that surround us – they are broken for a reason. The old ways DO NOT work; the Empire is falling and we the people are getting our power back making this an incredibly powerful time to be alive.
If you are doubting what you have to offer or what you can do to change things just remember that you chose to be born and have a life on the earth plane at this time, therefore you have an important role to play in it all, and sometimes that role is just for you to be unapologetically YOU. So, don’t allow any fears that you are a bit different quirky or just downright weird to stop you from sharing what you know. It is only this type of outside the box thinking that will change anything and that will lay the solid foundations for a New Earth and a world that we all want to live and prosper within.
