Abundance without greed is the theme of this New Moon. Taurean energy is renowned for loving the finer things in life as such things make Taurean souls feel safe and secure and like they are worthwhile and have something to show for their lives. However true security and safety comes from feeling that deep within ourselves. There is nothing wrong with having lots of money or owning lots of things, but we have to know where to draw the line between what we need and what we desire. Humanity’s deadly desire for more is what has gotten this planet into the mess that it is in. When we can learn to put as much value into the abundance of the planet and cherishing its natural resources that support us, as we do into our fancy cars and job titles we are finally going to see some positive change.
At the New Moon, we set our intentions for the month ahead. The Moon will be joining Uranus in Taurus who is already bringing to the surface all that we need to be held accountable for. There is much not to like when we look around the world we live in at the moment; we are seeing sides of people and behaviours that are confronting, to say the least. Thanks to the likes of Donald Trump lies, oversights and blatant denials are becoming the new norm – and this cannot be allowed to continue. For anything to be resolved, healed or changed it has to first see the light of day. We cannot change what we don’t admit too or what we don’t acknowledge or see. Uranus in Taurus is already doing a fabulous job of bringing to the surface all the negative qualities of this sign of the zodiac such as greed, power, selfishness and the desperate need for material prosperity, and its painting a pretty ugly picture. The patriarchal forces of the last centuries have totally capitalised on these feelings and needs, and this has taken its toll on the compassionate and caring qualities that humanity is also blessed with but which we seem to have come to forget. As Uranus continues his 7-8-year transit through Taurus we will be shown and confronted with our human hypocrisy of loving our planet yet trashing her at the same time.
The positive side of Taurus energy encompasses hard work, steady progress and the ability to get our hands dirty to help ourselves and each other. It allows us to work up from ground level to create new sustainable and environmentally friendly products, systems and ways of being that can take the planet forward with confidence and surety.
Every New Moon we have in the sign of Taurus over the next 8 years while Uranus is transiting through this sign, is an opportunity to empower yourself to create your own security within by understanding that it’s not about what you have, it’s about how you feel. You can be the wealthiest person in the world, but without love in your heart, you will feel nothing and appreciate none of what you have. And you can be the poorest person in the world but so full of love and joy that everything that happens outside of you has no effect on that feeling.
At this New Moon look to where you are too self-serving and where you look outside of yourself for happiness instead of inside of yourself and acknowledge this side of you as something that needs to shift. Ask yourself where do your material values have more power over you than your inner values? And where do you deny others the time and energy they need from you? And where in your life are you unable to forgive and forget, so as you can move on? Allow all of these to see the light of day this weekend and set your intention that such things be bathed in the loving light of the Universe and from this space they can then be healed and transformed. New Moon Blessings to you all xox
PS: If you are in New Zealand there is a spectacular meteor shower predicted for 5am on Sunday morning – what a way to bring in the Wesak New Moon in Taurus!
