Today we have a New Moon in Scorpio.  The Moon will join the Sun, Venus and Mercury already in this sign to inspire us towards new beginnings based on our ability to re-birth ourselves through introspection and facing what we fear.

Scorpio energy is the most intense energy of the zodiac, and it is also the most sensitive sign of the zodiac. It is ruled by Pluto, Ruler of the Underworld and so it interprets and feels everything at the very deepest level.  The Moon represents our emotions and so at this New Moon you are being encouraged to dig deep; to research and investigate your emotional body and the effect this has on your daily life and how you live it.  You also at this time, as with any New Moon, have the opportunity to set your intentions for the month ahead.  The energy of Scorpio is all about embracing your power and seeing through any “default” systems you may have set up within you to protect yourself.  Our emotions and feelings are often things that we hide from others and from ourselves.  We package them away for fear of being hurt, being vulnerable and having such things used against us as ammunition.  And we forget how much personal power and success we can have when we actually embrace this part of ourselves.

At this New Moon, challenge yourself to go within and to see what it is that you fear so much that you cannot expose or admit to yourself or to others.  For so long as you keep such things a secret and bury them away, they have this insidious power over you that allows you to fall into victim mode every time they are triggered, and especially so when they are triggered by others.  The ‘sting” of Scorpio is well known, and that sting comes from fear – fear that someone might know you so well that they can open your wounds, fear that you will be judged if others really knew the inner you, and fear that you are not good enough.  YOU are in charge of how you feel.  No soul in this world has the right or the ability to make you feel like you are less than perfect, and only YOU can change or allow this.  For so long as you allow your emotions to control you and make you feel less than good enough, you are a slave to them and a victim of your own mind.  There is nothing wrong with vulnerability, softness, gentleness and showing this side of you to the world – in fact, people will love you and respect you more for being courageous enough to be all of these things.  And hey, wouldn’t the world be a much better place if we all showed a bit more compassion and gentleness to ourselves and others?  When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable to others, in a safe way, we allow our true self to emerge and we can have much deeper and more intimate relationships on every level because we are being our true authentic selves.  And your true authentic self is NEVER something you should be ashamed of or run away from.

The New Moon in Scorpio will directly oppose Uranus in Taurus meaning that we can rebirth ourselves, our true selves, and embrace the energy of freedom and independence that is the reward for doing so.  Oppositions are challenging lessons because they create sparks and ignite things, and this particular opposition between Uranus and the Moon will bring sudden and unexpected events in our lives that allow us to remember who we truly are and force us to act on what we are feeling.  It will also make us very aware of our need to control all that happens in our lives, and particularly in our outside worlds.  True freedom and true authenticity come from knowing deep within yourself that the only thing you can control in this lifetime is yourself.  And when you have control of yourself, as in control of your thoughts, feelings and emotions you have peace – true inner, unshakeable and incredibly empowering peace.

One of the most powerful forms of release and ability to understand ourselves can come through the process of writing.  When we write we release.  And so during this New Moon period, take some time to write down your fears and the emotions you feel that you don’t like or understand.  Once you have all of these written down on paper, read them and see them for what they are, and you will then see very clearly, in black and white, what you are allowing to have control over you, and how by letting go of these you can set yourself free.

So, at this New Moon let go of your fear of being judged, your fear of being hurt and your victim mentality.  You are a spark of God; you are powerful beyond your understanding and you are here to use all of this for your highest good.  Send out love not fear to your world – inner and outer – and be fearless in all that you do.  You are loved, you are worthy, and you are divine.  New Moon blessings to you all xox
