Neptune is the planet of illusion, deception, imagination and betrayal and he is also the planet of higher consciousness. Under the influence of Neptune, we are encouraged to look at ourselves and the world around us from a higher perspective which means to look at things through the lens of love and light rather than from the limiting 3D perspective of the earth plane. Neptune encourages us to rise above the challenges of the earth plane by developing our spiritual gifts such as the power of self-belief, self-love and self-worth. Without these being strong and positive within us we cannot manifest what we truly want and Neptune teaches us how to see through the illusions we create for ourselves, so we can see who we truly are.
The first part of his 2025 Retrograde journey will be in Aries, and this will happen between 5 July and 22 October 2025. During this time Neptune will be asking us to look closely at who we are and what we are wanting to achieve. He will point out to us during this time any weaknesses we have in those areas of self-love so as we can transform out of these negative beliefs and replace them with positive self-affirming beliefs instead. Aries energy is the “I am” energy and to step fully into your I AM power you cannot be carrying fears that you are not good enough, or that you can’t lead others or stand on your own two feet. So, be aware of what comes up for you during this time as others may well trigger you to bring such things to your attention so as you can do something about them.
And then from 23 October until 10 December 2025 he will retrograde back into the familiar territory of Pisces. Neptune has just come out of a 15 year stretch in Pisces where he was completely at home and therefore particularly powerful. During this lengthy transit we all got to play around and experiment with spiritual energy, tools, awarenesses, modalities and gifts. It was a time where we were also very much lost in the illusion that Neptune brings. During this time much changed around the world and one of the things we all became a lot more aware of was how much we gave our power away and how much we relied and believed in the “powers that be” to protect us and take care of our needs. Neptune is a water energy and so when it comes to water things can be very murky until the water is cleared and this is what happens when Neptune moves into Aries – everything becomes a whole lot clearer.
So, while Neptune is back in Pisces in Retrograde, we get to take another look at the illusions we have been living under and the illusions we tell ourselves and we will see them with fresh eyes as we have now had some experience of Neptune in Aries. But Neptune has only just dipped his toes into Aries so we may not have learned a lot about this energy so far, but perhaps we may have as well. The most important thing of the Neptune in Pisces retrograde period is making us aware of where our weaknesses lie – where do we not believe in ourselves, where do we not love ourselves and where do we carry fear of what might be. When we are aware of our fears and shortcomings, we can then do something about them, however when we are just stuck and do not look at why, it can be a lot harder to shift them.
Neptune will move Direct in Pisces from 11 December 2025 until 26 January 2026 and this will be our opportunity to put into action what we have found within ourselves. We can raise our ideals, honour our beliefs and work to manifest our dreams and aspirations through spiritual awareness and the tools of understanding.
From 27January 2026 he will be in Aries until March 2039 – a long transit to help us to all see through the illusions we tell ourselves about what we are capable of and what we can be and achieve. And he will also be teaching us about the illusions of power and how to be strong individuals and rely upon ourselves no matter what is happening outside of us.
Neptune and Saturn transiting in Direct and Retrograde motion are encouraging us to be come the Spiritual Warriors we came here to be. The world needs our energy at this time, and the more we can believe in ourselves and all we have to offer, the more we can BE everything we came here to be.
