Mercury moves out of solid and dependable Taurus and into its home sign of Gemini from 18 May until 1 June 2026 – a fairly quick transit and one that will most definitely speed everything up for us all.

When a planet is in its home sign it has a lot more power and significance and its effects can be deeply felt and made use of at this time. Mercury will join Uranus who recently moved into Gemini for the next 7 years, and he will also briefly see Venus there until she moves into Cancer on 20 May 2026.

Mercury is the planet of communication and Gemini is the sign of communication so when these two merge together our ability to communicate, get things done and take action are activated.  The biggest challenge will be completing what we start.  Mercury is forever curious, searching, experimenting and moving; it doesn’t like to stay still for too  long and it has a great need to explore and try anything and everything that comes its way.  So, we can expect a busy couple of weeks coming up!

I have already written and spoken about the major transit of Uranus through Gemini which will be going on until 2033.  This transit will bring incredible changes in how we communicate, how we move and in what we explore and develop and Mercury here for a short time will show us how we can begin to tap into all of this.

Many of you may find under this influence that there are just too many options to explore, or too many activities to do, or simply just not enough hours in the day for all you wish to achieve.  And so, I feel that this short transit is going to give us a bit of dress rehearsal, exposing us to the influence of Uranus in Gemini and what the full blown effect of this can be.

You can’t be everything to everyone

You see none of us can be everything to everyone.  We can’t do it all no matter how much we think we can or want too.  If we do choose to try to take it all on, we will spread ourselves too thin; not be able to give our best to everything and possibly find ourselves with too many half-finished projects and uncompleted tasks.  And this type of pressure can then lead to feelings of incompetence and lack of capability.

So, my advice is to get organised and put it all on paper.  For so long as our thoughts, ideas and plans are in our heads, they are abstract – going round and round being thought about but not actually going anywhere or achieving anything substantial.  However, when we write things down, they can gain a whole new perspective and a whole new awareness of whether they will work for us, or not.

During this transit of Mercury through Gemini be very aware of what is presented to you and how it makes you feel.

Do you feel rushed and overwhelmed?

Do you feel like you just can’t get it all done?

Or, do you feel like if you choose something that it might be the wrong choice?

If you try to keep too much in your head and if you try to take on too much you will overload yourself and from there either grab everything and half-do it, or, freeze and achieve nothing.  This transit is I feel a good taste of how crazy Uranus in Gemini could be for you if you do not limit yourself and be aware of what you can do and do well, and what is not for you right now.

After his rush through Gemini, Mercury will move into Cancer for an extended visit thanks to his Retrograde move from 29 June until 23 July 2026, but more about that in my next Newsletter.

Pick your battles!

The last 2 – 3 years have been SO fast, and they are not about to slow down in a hurry.  We are being rushed through life at this time with so many different options and challenges and the only way to take control of this so as it can work for you is to slow it down.  Just because the world around is going crazy doesn’t mean you have to!  So, pick your battles, choose what works best for YOU at this time, put it all on paper to prioritise and focus on what you need, and most importantly be open, honest and communicative in every way.

When Mercury is in Gemini we all have the “gift of the gab” we can all sell ourselves, our ideas and what is important to us, and we can all embellish and expand on our ideas and stories.  It can be too easy to get led down the proverbial garden path by ourselves and our own imagination, so try to get real – as real as you can with all that comes your way.  And remember to tell yourself “you can’t do it all, and that is okay”.

And when Mercury is in Gemini it is also time to have a bit of fun – to enjoy banter, story-telling and fun with one another.  We can lighten up and look for the fun in everything rather than the lessons and seriousness.  It’s a great time to be social and to explore new interests and activities, so be open to what comes your way but also keeping that awareness of NOT overloading or overwhelming yourself in any way.  Have some fun, get out and about and share your joy and laughter – the world really needs a bit of this at this time.
