Mars has now moved out of busy Gemini and into Cancer meaning things should slow down a little on the “to do” list. Gemini energy is of course very good at keeping busy and finding things to do, whether prompted to or not, and of course Mars is the planet of drive and action, so the 6 or so weeks that Mars has just spent in Gemini have been exhausting to say the least!
Mars in Cancer is a whole different thing. Mars stimulates and motivates us to take action and get things done and when he moves into Cancer, he can very easily push all our emotional buttons, rather than our “to do” buttons.
Mars in Cancer wants to act on what it feels
Cancerian energy is super-sensitive, intuitive, creative and compassionate and it is also very stubborn, stuck in its ways at times and can take things way too personally. So, this means that Mars in Cancer will not only activate these emotions but want to do something about them too.
So, on a positive note this can be a great time to take action on your old wounds and hurts from the past – to finally put these to rest through some type of therapy or just by allowing yourself to forgive and move on. Mars in Cancer can also amplify our sense of compassion and empathy for others making us more accepting and understanding of what others are going through. And of course Mars in Cancer will heighten our intuition and allow us to “feel” our way through things with more clarity and awareness.
On a more challenging note Mars in Cancer can make us overreact to everything that strikes an emotional chord within us. We can be overly sensitive, find it very difficult to accept any type of constructive criticism and become very stuck in our ways.
Mars in Cancer works for the underdog
But I do feel that we can take even the challenging part of Mars in Cancer and turn that into something productive. We have a lot of major planets sitting in Fire energy at this time, willing us and pushing to speak up and step up in some way. Mars in Cancer will bring a strong emotional push to this which can be very positive IF we use this energy to support and promote what is for the highest good of ALL concerned. Mars in Cancer works for the underdog and can often find it a lot easier to stick up for someone else’s needs than it can for its own. So we can use this energy to support others, to create more community and to see things from a higher and more loving perspective.
During this transit I would encourage you to be a lot more aware of your feelings and how they are motivating you – whether they are good or bad. If you can step outside of yourself and view what is going on in your life through the lens of the 3rd party you may discover a lot about yourself and what motivates you the most.
Why do you react so strongly to …..?
And, why do you feel so upset when ……. happens?
When we observe ourselves and our actions rather then being IN them and making it all about how they are making you feel, we can not only see and learn so much more about ourselves, but we can also take steps to change our ways, or to embrace them, if they are for our highest good.
Don’t be afraid to feel and to feel deeply, but use those feelings as knowledge and information that you can act from, rather than react to. If knowledge is power then self-knowledge is a super-power! Take the time under this transit to get to know your feelings and emotions and to turbo-charge your feelings of self-love and self-worth. Don’t fall into victim mentality or in wounds from your past – these are tricks of the Ego designed to keep you down and unfulfilled. Step up, listen to your intuition, be creative and practise lots and lots and LOTS of self-love and self-care. Use the motivation of Mars to enhance your sense of self in the most positive way possible and then when Mars moves into Leo on 29 September, you will be more solid and strong in what you feel and believe and you can then take all that Mars motivation and passion and really turn it into something powerful!
