We have just experienced approximately 12 months of Jupiter, the planet of growth and expansion, transiting through the sign of Cancer and now he will move into Leo to bring a whole different level of expansion and growth.
While he was in Cancer we were being asked to expand upon our intuition, family ties, self-love, creativity and self-worth. Although Jupiter is considered to be a very benevolent planet, it is also his job to bring to the surface whatever needs to see the light of day. We cannot grow and expand upon things that are buried deep within us, and so the journey of Jupiter through Cancer also brought up and to the surface all and anything that was not truly aligned with our heart and our own personal growth.
Jupiter inspires change
Jupiter changes sign every 12 months or so, and so although he is one of the larger outer planets he moves a lot faster than any of his accomplices out there. This short yet powerful transit time is designed to help us to grow and expand on what is in our best interests and that which will help propel us forward in some way. Jupiter inspires us to change and to be bigger and better in every way, and of course there will always be some letting go and uncomfortable times because of this. However, Jupiter also has a very natural flow – he reminds us of what we are capable of; of those parts of ourselves or things that we do that could be more in some way. More fulfilling, more all-encompassing, more unapologetically and naturally YOU.
The last time Jupiter transited through Leo was between 17 July 2014 and 11 August 2015.

And what were you letting go of?
Did anything come up then that helped you to see what else you could be good at, or develop?
And where did your life grow the most during that time?
These are all very important questions for you to ask yourself and ponder on as we enter Jupiter’s next transit through Leo. When a planet returns to the same place in your Chart that he has been before, it is seen as an opportunity to perhaps face the same lessons – but learn them differently. To grow and expand a part of yourself that has been dormant or ignored. And similar experiences can be presented to you now to see how you will deal with them this time round.
Life on the earth plane is a series of lessons
Our life on the earth plane is a series of lessons that our souls have chosen so as they can evolve. Jupiter in Leo will bring up the lessons we need to learn in personal courage, leadership, genuine connection with others, creativity, self-expression, optimism and confidence. This transit can help us to really grow in each of these areas of our lives and so be open to any experiences that come your way that allow you to expand on any of the above in a positive and fulfilling way.
And then there is always the shadow side of our learning – the part that we often don’t want to know about and choose to ignore. Jupiter in Leo may also bring up challenges to do with pride, humility, ego-driven actions, superficial and arrogant behaviour, vanity and need to over-dramatise everything so it suits your ego and makes you look good.
Perhaps back at that last Jupiter transit through Leo you were very driven by personal needs for success and fame and notoriety of some sort and although that may have worked out for you, it would have been short-lived if the motivation behind your needs in these areas were purely ego-driven and for your own personal glory. So, similar opportunities could present themselves again at this transit offering you another chance to deal with it differently, to perhaps aim for and work towards the same success BUT to be driven to do so for the highest good of ALL concerned, rather than just your own gratification and reputation.
