On 10 June 2025 Jupiter, the planet of growth and expansion, will move out of busy Gemini and into the mothering energy of Cancer.
Jupiter changes signs around every 12 -13 months and so that means that every approximately 11 – 12 years he will re-visit a sign of the zodiac. Jupiter was last in Cancer between June 2013 and July 2014 bringing growth and expansion to wherever the Cancerian energy sits in your Natal Chart, and this will be where he is back now to do the same over the upcoming year or so.
Jupiter is considered to be a very benevolent, happy, optimistic and creative planet so wherever he is moving through your Chart he is usually bringing good things that can help us to grow and expand in our lives through the use of our natural talents and what comes easiest to us. Jupiter rules Sagittarius and therefore he also encourages adventure, travel and the seeking of the truth.
While he has been in Gemini for around the last 12 months or so we have all experienced a VERY busy time of it. Gemini is the busiest sign of the zodiac and so when Jupiter moves through here, he tends to expand on that energy in a big way. So, for many of you this transit has brought a lot of new opportunities and experiences – some of which would have been welcomed into your life and some of which were possibly not so welcome. It created quite a lot of overwhelm for many people and also a lot of confusion as to what to do next. Many of you will be very happy to say goodbye to this transit and will be looking forward to the slower and more meaningful journey of Jupiter through Cancer.
When Jupiter is in Cancer he expands upon our need for self-love; our need to fit in and be with like-minded souls; our intuition and inner voice also grows under this influence as does our need for love and companionship on every level. Cancer is the energy of the earth mother and it is a very sensitive, intuitive and creative energy as well. And so, Jupiter will expand upon these parts of ourselves helping us to find our way to unconditional love.
As we now have Saturn and Neptune both in Pisces, Uranus about to move into Gemini and Pluto firmly fixed in Aquarius. Jupiter in Cancer allows us to bring the expansion to all of this via love and creativity. Saturn and Neptune in Aries are encouraging us to put ourselves first and to step up, and Jupiter throws a blanket of compassion, understanding and empathy over this. And as Pluto is encouraging us to dance to our own drumbeats and not be afraid to share our ideas, Jupiter in Cancer will give us the inner belief and self-love to not shy away from sharing what we know.
Jupiter in Cancer is our opportunity to listen closely to that inner voice, to our intuition and soul as it guides us forward at this time. This transit asks us to take the higher ground and to see all that is going on around us from a higher perspective of deep knowing that this is exactly where we are meant to be at this time.
But of course, there is always the shadow that needs to be addressed as well. With Jupiter in Cancer, it can be very easy to throw yourself into the problems and heartaches of others whilst ignoring your own, or the needs of those closest to you. Jupiter in Cancer wants you to reach out to help anyone and everyone as it pulls upon our primal need to be needed, but in our efforts to try to be everything to everyone, we often miss the mark and forget about the most important person in the world – YOU!
We can all use the energy of Jupiter in Cancer to expand upon our dreams for the future, to open up to and develop our intuition and our creative talents and to open our hearts to all that there is. If you have ever wanted to develop these parts of yourself further then this 12-month transit will be excellent energy for you to draw upon. This is also fabulous energy for bonding more closely to your children or mother figures in your life and taking the love you feel and give to an unconditional level.
Open yourself to Universal love the currency of Spirit and the energy of peace. Find your happy place – whatever that may be – and find things to do that allow time to stand still or fly by for you. Practise lots of self-care by doing the things that make you happy and by being gentle and compassionate with yourself. We have all been through A LOT since Jupiter was last in Cancer, and we are all well overdue for that nurturing, loving unconditional love that this transit will bring.
