Libra Season could not be more different than Virgo Season. For the last 28 days we have been feeling the encouragement to get more organised, to get things done behind the scenes and to try to get our proverbial ducks in a row. We have taken care of business, spring-cleaned our lives in some way and are now ready for a break from all this practical grounded stuff, and to step into some socialising, creativity and fun.
In Libra Season we feel the pull to be with others, to work on or establish new relationships and to share our energy with others. We are looking for harmony, balance and nothing that asks too much of us or wants us to go too deep or get too serious. In New Zealand we are stepping into Spring and so naturally feeling the need to be out and about and involving ourselves with others in lots of different ways. In the North Hemisphere you are into Autumn and starting to retreat a little and perhaps feeling more focussed on the relationships you already with others. Either way, its time for all of us to step out of ourselves and be a part of something that is more than just “me”.
Libra rules relationships and when we are in Libra Season, I always feel it’s a great opportunity for us to look at the most important relationship we have in life, and that is the relationship we have with our own beautiful selves. How you treat yourself, what you say to yourself and what you think about yourself are all energies that flow within you and outside of you too. The more focus and love you can give to yourself, the more focus and love emanate from you and then goes out to the Collective and the Universe. We still have Chiron in Retrograde in Aries, pushing everyone’s buttons of feeling not good enough or not confident enough. Aries is the opposite sign of Libra and we can use this opposition to reach out to others and to realise that going it alone is often taking the harder path. Collaborations and sharing in the energy of others lightens our load and allows us to accept support and guidance when we need it most. However, under the influence of Libra, we can find it way too easy to give our energy away. Libra is the energy of balance and harmony but too often this energy is used to “people-please” rather than to put yourself first. So, remember to look after your own needs, speak your truth and be who you truly are in all that you do this Solar Month.
Our ability to communicate increases under this influence – we can find it easier to chat, share small talk and find similarities with others, but we may not wish to take things any further or deeper than this. When everything sits on the surface it feels comfortable and safe for Librans, but too often when things get a bit deeper or more serious, Librans can opt out and try to lighten and even trivialise what needs to be addressed.
So, be very aware this Solar Month of where and when you people-please. Do you feel you always need to please and say the right thing to your family? Or is it your colleagues that you can’t be truly open and transparent with? It could even be a partner or a child around you that you just can’t be honest with because you are too concerned with what they might think of you, or hurting their feelings in some way. The thing is however, when you don’t speak up and say what you really feel, want or need, then you are sacrificing yourself and what is important to you. Use the strong Libran energy this month to try to be more open, honest and transparent in who you are and what is important to you. If there are issues you have been sweeping under the carpet or to scared to address, but which are bothering you, use the wonderful articulation of Libra to speak up and reveal yourself. This is the time of revelations on every level and as we know 2025 is also a number 9 year, so it’s a year of endings that will be followed by new beginnings. Allow yourself to let go of anything and anyone who is not having a positive impact on your life and do so in the knowledge that when you let go, something or someone a lot better for you will appear in your life.
At the time of writing this Newsletter we are building up to the partial Solar Eclipse at 29 degrees of Virgo on 21/22 September 2025. The effect of a Solar Eclipse lasts around 6 months but often there will be signs and changes around the actual date that indicate what may be coming your way soon.
This is a South Node Solar Eclipse which makes it particularly powerful for closing doors on the past and opening doors to the future. It is also occurring at 29 degrees which is a particularly powerful degree that symbolises major changes through letting go of old ways. Under this influence of this Eclipse, we may find that things that are just not working for us will come to an end. Decisions made and actions taken at the time of any Eclipse tend to be carved in concrete and so be very aware of where you put your attention during this time. Don’t focus on what you don’t want or don’t like in your life, rather focus on what you want you love so as it can grow and manifest instead.
A Solar Eclipse happens at the time of a New Moon, and as we know New Moons are all about setting our intention for the month ahead. When we have an Eclipse on top of this it further enhances and adds power to our new paths and developments and so there is a lot of very powerful energy at our disposal around this time.
Mercury moved into Libra on the 18th September for a whirlwind trip through this sign. Mercury is only going to spend around 17 days in Libra before he moves onto Scorpio on 7 October 2025. Mercury rules Libra so he is very at home in this sign and therefore more powerful and influential. Mercury in Libra is articulate, elegant, well-spoken and charming. It is very easy under this influence to get your point across in a way that is not offensive, domineering or self-obsessed. It’s a lot easier for us to see another person’s perspective and to share our own and to also counsel others in a way that is supportive and caring. So, if there is a conversation you have been feeling you need to have to help someone around you to see things differently or to change their ways, you may find that when Mercury is in Libra you are more easily understood, your words are more effective and your perspective opens the eyes of others.
From 19 September until 13 October Venus will transit through Virgo. Venus in Virgo is refined, elegant and has a great need to serve and share its energy. Venus rules love, beauty and money and so when she sits in Virgo, she wants to work on these qualities to “perfect” them in some way and so you may find yourself wanting to serve your partner and those that you love more during this transit. Venus in Leo was a great time to change up our looks, try a new hairstyle or present ourselves more creatively or attractively in some way. Venus in Virgo now asks you to perfect this. So, Venus in Leo gave you the idea and the courage, and now Venus in Virgo wants you to make the best of this in every way.
Mid-September is a major turning point in many ways. Not only is it the annual Equinox, but the Eclipse occurs around the same time, as well as the Sun moving into Libra. Mid-September is also when we are half way through the signs of the zodiac. We have completed Aries through to Virgo and so our astrological year is now moving out of focussing on ourselves and what we need to personally develop, achieve and master, on to what we can do and achieve when we involve ourselves with others in some way. And mid-September is also when we have a New Moon in Virgo.
On 22 September the planet of drive, determination and action, Mars, moves into Scorpio and this is a BIG deal. This transit will last from 22 September until 4 November 2025. When Mars transits thorough Scorpio he is incredibly driven, focussed and carries an intense almost obsessive energy. Under this influence whatever you set your sights on to achieve; you will not stop until you have done so. You have a goal in mind and you will not allow anyone to stand in your way, or stop you from going after what you want. This is of course brilliant energy for getting a new project going, getting to the bottom of some mystery or problem in your life, or challenging yourself to step up in some way. BUT this is not a good energy to use to try to change, have or control another person. Under this influence, you could meet someone new and become obsessed with having them. You could decide to yourself that this is the man or woman of your dreams and NOTHING will stop you going after them which could easily turn you into some type of stalker, unwanted guest and/or shadow! Remember you cannot change another person or make someone do what they do not want to do, so focus on what is for the highest good of all concerned rather than just what you are driven by.
Due in particular to being in Eclipse Season, there will continue to be lots of ups and downs globally and within our personal lives over the rest of September and early October. Things are reaching a head globally and never has it been more important for each and every one of us to stay in our own energy, to keep your inner alignment and peace and to know in your heart of hearts that no matter what you are seeing play out of the Earth stage, you are safe, you are loved and you are powerful in every way. It is time for us all to awaken and remember who we are and the power that we carry for change and ascension. You are here for a reason and that reason is LOVE.
