On 22 July we step into Leo Season which is when we get to celebrate our inner world and inner voice through self-expression and self-confidence.
Leo energy is the energy of the optimist, the leader, the extrovert and let’s face it, most Leos really know how to have fun and to bring confidence and uplifting energy to any situation – and particularly so if they are in charge.
Leo, being a Fire sign, is one of the leadership signs of the zodiac and probably the most fun leadership sign as it is always their intent to bring enthusiasm, optimism and joy to anything that they are involved in.
During Leo Season we all get to feel a bit stronger and more outgoing, and we also get to flex our leadership and independence muscles to see what we can next challenge ourselves too or get involved in. Therefore, this is a great time to look at what you would like to create or take to the next level. Those positive inner beliefs and gifts that we all carry can come to the surface a lot more at this time bringing us the confidence and energy we need to get things over the line, or to see the light of day.
But remember with Leo energy comes a great need to be appreciated, admired and glorified for what YOU brings to the table. This is one of the biggest challenges for Leo – it loves to hold Court; to be the centre of attention and too often the more we demand this type of attention, the more likely it is to blow up in our faces. The greatest life lesson for Leo is to do things in life simply because they are the right thing to do – not because of all the glory or fame, not because you think you are right, and not because it’s all about you. Under the influence of Leo energy, we are all learning to validate ourselves simply by knowing and acting upon our highest intentions for the greater good of ALL concerned. Remember pride often comes before a fall, and so as much as we can all use this positive uplifting energy in our lives, we need to make sure that when we do make use of this energy that it is completely aligned with who we truly are and our deepest intentions and highest values, and NOT to just appease the Ego.
Another thing to be aware of during most of Leo Season, is that we will still be in Mercury Retrograde until 11 August 2025 and so although the Leo energy may have you champing at the bit and eager to move forward and make things happen, it is always best to wait until Mercury has settled back into Direct motion before we commit to anything new or important to us.
Mercury has been Retrograde in Leo since 18 July, and so he is now alongside the Sun, and adding his energy of communication and expression to bring even more creativity and optimism to this Solar Season. Mercury Retrograde in Leo is all about re-assessing and re-looking at our goals and what we wish to put out there and/or take to the next level. As Leo energy is such an expressive energy it is a great time to perhaps test out your ideas or thoughts on others to get some valuable feedback and to add assurance and credibility to what you are working on. Mercury is very happy in Leo as there are no limits to its ability to express itself under this sign of the zodiac, and so the pull to get going, be heard and of course be admired for what you are bringing to the table will be very strong. But as I have said, it’s best to keep up that background work and do your due diligence up until around 15 August when Mercury is moving Direct once again, and then you will have the green light to launch your dreams.
Uranus has now moved into Gemini, and this is the last major planetary shift of 2025 and will bring through major changes in how we communicate, travel and interact with one another over the next 7 years. A shift in thinking is imperative if we are to change the way the world is at this time, and Uranus in Gemini will bring this to us in his usual curve-ball way. Remember everything starts with a thought – what we think we create! Changes will be sudden and unexpected and will most definitely push us all out of our comfort zones. But, we can be assured that it will all be for the highest good of this planet and humanity.
On 24 July we have a New Moon in Leo. New Moons are all about setting our intention for the month ahead and putting out there what we wish to achieve, put in motion or change in our lives in some way. Once again, the New Moon will be inspiring us to get on with it and to put ourselves out there, but remember it is still Mercury Retrograde and so YES, we can put our intentions out there and our positive thoughts and beliefs, but we do not take action on these things just yet. This New Moon energy could be an ideal time to discuss your intentions and to share what you are working on so as others can give, you’re their input, and perhaps even point out to you something that you have not thought of, or, something that you can add to your dreams and goals to make them even more powerful and creative.
We currently have Saturn, Pluto, Neptune and Mercury in Retrograde motion which means that the brakes are on in some areas of our lives where we need to reassess and re-look at what we are doing there. Saturn and Neptune are both Retrograde in Aries, but will both also retrograde all the way back into Pisces before they turn Direct once again. So, we will all get another taste of the past and the Age of Illusion we were living under for so long. This will be vital for many to be able to perhaps see through the illusion for the first time, and for those who have already seen through it all, it will be a reminder of what needs to change and what we can all do as individuals to initiate these necessary changes by simply being aware of, and being prepared to act on, what is important to YOU.
On 31 July, Chiron the wounded healer, will move into Retrograde motion also in Aries. So, for a shortish period of time, we will have 3 powerful planets all in Retrograde in the first sign of the zodiac, which is significant. When a planet is retrograding through the energy of Aries, we are looking at the shadow of Aries or the challenges that we need to transform into the power and positivity of Aries. During this time, we can all expect to be confronted by experiences and people around us, as to whether we REALLY think we are good enough. And/or whether we truly think we can step out on our own, or become the leaders of others in some way. We will be forced to look deeply into our own fears and self-defeating beliefs that can stop us from embracing our dreams and goals, and that can keep us from being happy and successful in this lifetime. So, don’t be afraid to go deeply into what makes YOU feel in any way that you may not have what it takes – remember it’s just a belief, just a story that you tell yourself – and such things can be changed in an instant by transforming the fear into fortitude.
So, use Leo Season to get creative, experimental and confident on the INSIDE. Explore your gifts and talents and work on them to finetune them and expand upon them as much as you can. Work on your self-confidence and self-expression so as when Mercury is Direct and we have the green light to take action, you are ready, fully equipped and best of all fully confident and self-assured in all that you are doing. Be that brave Lion, King of the Jungle and be the most authentic version of yourself that you can be.
