Welcome to Capricorn Season!
So, here we are at the end of 2025 and what a year it has been!!
As we step into Capricorn Season and the Summer Solstice (here in the Southern Hemisphere) it is a time for reflection and contemplation for us all. It is always a good idea to spend a bit of time re-visiting the last 12 months so you can see how far you have come, what you have achieved and how your life has changed for you.
Capricorn Season, I always feel comes at a funny time of the year. As it’s the end of the year and many people are celebrating Christmas and taking holidays it always feels like it should be a time of fun, socialising, enjoyment and general winding down. However, it can often be very challenging for us to allow ourselves to really unwind and enjoy this Festive Season due to the intensity of Capricorn. You see, Capricorn is the most serious sign of the zodiac – when we are under the influence of Capricorn, we tend to take ourselves, our lives and anything that we deem “important” to us, very seriously and that often does not quite gel with the fun and relaxed nature of Christmas. So, what many people find is that they spend the first 2 weeks or so of Capricorn Season getting themselves organised, making a big effort to relax and feeling like we have to work to allow the peace and enjoyment of the holidays to set in. But, over the final 2 weeks of Capricorn Season we usually manage to get serious about our relaxation, recovery and enjoyment.
It is always important at this time of year to not take ourselves and those around us too seriously. A bit challenging under the influence of Capricorn, but it can be done. What we can do instead is use this serious, practical and diligent energy to analyse 2025 and all we have been through so you can know and see quite clearly what you need to take into 2026 with you, and you must leave behind. 2025 has been a year of endings and if something has slipped away from you and you are confused or unhappy about this, just accept it as part of your journey and do so also in the knowledge that you have outgrown and evolved out of whatever this was and you are ready for something that is more aligned with you in every way.
Venus joins the Sun and Mars in Capricorn on 24 December 2025 creating a stellium of planets in this energy. This emphasis on Capricorn energy allows the practicality and tenacity to come through, and it is further emphasised by the ethics and values that Venus emulates when she is in this sign of the zodiac. Venus in Capricorn brings us home to our highest purpose and gently merges beauty with practicality whilst at the same time encouraging us to put a worth on ourselves and what we align ourselves with.
As we move through December and into the New Year, we will enter 2026 with Jupiter and Uranus both in Retrograde motion. Jupiter in Cancer is helping us with our family dynamics and can help us to be more compassionate and understanding with those more challenging family members at this time, as well as with ourselves. However, Jupiter in Cancer will be opposing the Sun, Mars and Venus in Capricorn for some of this Solar Month bringing friction and possible challenges in our lives if we get stuck in taking ourselves and what we think and believe too seriously. I think we would all have to agree that any Christmas Dinner Table will be a much more amiable and fun place if we don’t talk politics or religion!! So, pick your battles people; agree to disagree and rise above. Remember its only somebody’s opinion and only words, you can let it go.
And Uranus has retrograded all the way back into Taurus so we are all taking stock of our security, what this means to us and how we can create a safer and more secure world for ourselves. Uranus Retrograde in Taurus may also be triggering any need for forgiveness in your life. More often than not the hardest person to forgive can be yourself – so be gentle and kind with yourself as you work through old wounds and triggers and know that whatever gets activated is doing so to be released.
The first Full Moon of 2026 falls on 3 January 2026 and it will be a Super Full Moon in Cancer. Starting a New Year with this Super Full Moon immediately raises and activates everybody’s intuition and creativity. When the Moon is in Cancer she is at home and wants to shine her beautiful energy in peace, compassion and understanding. We can all use this Full Moon to give back in some way and to give thanks. The Moon represents our emotions, our intuition and our connection to our mothers. As 2026 is the year of Sovereignty this Full Moon’s energy will allow us all to feel our connection with Spirit and our intuition encouraging us to go with what we feel and to honour our inner voice.
On 2 January 2026 Mercury moves out of Sagittarius and into Capricorn joining Venus, Mars and the Sun there until 20 January 2026. This will further enhance the practical energy of Capricorn and I feel in particular it will activate the ambitious side of Capricorn. From day 2 of 2026 we will have 4 planets in Capricorn all working this grounding and determined energy in their own ways. When we have this many planets in Capricorn it can be quite difficult to shift your focus or change your mind. It is very easy to become grounded in your ideas and beliefs and this energy can be very successfully used to work on the foundations and structures you need to get your hopes and dreams off the ground in 2026. It really feels like with all these planets in Capricorn heading into 2026 that this will be a serious year where great progress can be made by those who are prepared to work hard, discipline themselves and focus on what they wish to make real and succeed at.
We can all use the energy of Capricorn Season to focus on our goals, dreams and visions for 2026 and beyond. We are just about out of the Age of Illusion created by Neptune in Pisces for the last 15 years and once Neptune is firmly in Aries by mid-January, we will start to see how we can make our dreams a reality. And when Saturn moves firmly into Aries in February 2026, we will finally be able to see how we can create the structures, foundations and programs we need to make our dreams come true.
Use this last solar month of the old 2025 energy to dream, fantasise, imagine, create and believe in your dreams and hopes for the future. Thinking big, think beautiful and think expansive and then, come the end of February, you will be ready to step into your next 9 year cycle with a goal, a plan and a dream ready to be birthed.
