Welcome to Cancer Season and a very Happy Birthday to all you lovely Cancerians out there! This is my birthday month too and I am very excited to see what the planets will have in store for us during Cancer Season. Cancer Season and the next 2 months have A LOT going on with major planets moving into Retrograde as well as changing signs of the zodiac and also forming transformative aspects with one another, so its most definitely not going to be a dull month!!
So, we have just been through Gemini Season which tends to be quite a social and busy time of the year. The curiosity of Gemini comes to the fore at this time and allows us all to explore new opportunities or to re-visit some old ones to see what else we can discover there. The busyness of Gemini is to remind us of the importance of discernment and knowing what is yours to take on board, and what is not. We can’t do everything and we can’t be everything to everyone – so stop trying and just be the best you can be for yourself. When you put yourself first you have more energy to give and you are also giving from an open and willing perspective rather than a limited one, or the feeling that you are obliged to do so.
Cancer Season is a chance to regroup and look to our own needs and the needs of those closest to us. Cancer is the mothering sign of the zodiac and the sign that deeply believes that the needs of others are always more important than its own needs. And this is a big thing that Cancerian souls really need to turn around if they are to have the energy to be the compassionate and empathetic souls that they are. Under the influence of Cancer, the home and family can become a lot more important to us as we understand the importance of self-care, a space to rejuvenate yourself and our human need for support and connection.
When the Sun is in Cancer our intuition also increases and we can “feel” a lot more. We are more sensitive to the energy of other people and it is not uncommon for awarenesses and messages to come to you from the spirit world during this time, to help you to update and expand upon your own inherent intuition. We are all intuitive and psychic it’s just a question of tuning into it, and during this month it can be a lot easier to do so.
The Sun in Cancer joins Jupiter already sitting in Cancer and they immediately form a strong conjunction with one another which will peak on 24 June 2025. Conjunctions amplify the energy of the two planets involved and so when the Sun in Cancer conjuncts Jupiter in Cancer we can expect a lot of growth, expansion and focus on all things Cancerian. So, this means increased intuition, increased creativity and increased compassion and empathy for others. However, there is always the shadow to be aware of as well and the shadow of this conjunction is an expansion on past fears and worries, and the expansion of the very Cancerian belief that the needs of those around you are more important than you own personal needs.
The number one lesson of spirituality is that “there is NO-ONE in the world more important than YOU”. When we give to ourselves first and foremost, we will always have more to give to others. But when we put others needs ahead of our own, we can very quickly run out of gas and be left with not a lot for ourselves by the end of the day. So, we can all use Cancer Season to be more aware of this and to make a conscious effort to put our own needs first. And we do this not in a selfish self-serving manner, but in a way that allows you to stand in your power, know your limits and maintain your boundaries.
The biggest life lesson for Cancerians is self-love and we can only truly achieve this when we can see our own importance, value and worth. You cannot learn to value and love yourself unconditionally if you are always giving this energy to others over and above yourself. The biggest challenge to our ability to love ourselves is how we allow the world around us to define us and tell us what we are worth or how good we are. You are a soul on a journey and you have done nothing wrong – so love yourself for this alone and allow this love to grow.
The biggest planetary movement during Cancer Season will be the transit of Uranus out of Taurus and into Gemini. Uranus has been sitting in Taurus for the last 7 years and as he moves through the final degrees of this sign, we can expect a lot of disruption, change and unexpected events within our personal lives and around the planet in general. Whenever a planet is in its final degrees of a sign of the zodiac, or in the first, it is particularly powerful and if that planet is also sitting in YOUR sign of the zodiac, you will feel it more strongly than others. So, all your Taureans out there who have had 7 years or ups and downs, do know that this is coming to an end for you, BUT its not over yet! Uranus moves into Gemini on 8 July 2025 and will spend 7 years transiting this sign of the zodiac. The global upheaval of the last weeks has shown this very clearly with volatility and anger being shown around the world. We are FINALLY waking up to the power of the people and what can be achieved when we ALL come together for the greatest good of all concerned.

During Cancer Season we also move into our second Mercury Retrograde period for 2025. This will occur between 19 July and 11 August. Remember Mercury Retrograde is never a good time to act on anything – it is our time to re-view and re-evaluate so if you have bookings to make for anything during this time, or anything you need to get out there, make sure you do it sooner rather than later so you don’t get caught up in this energy. This time Mercury will be retrograding through the fire sign of Leo encouraging us all to look within to what we are creating or working on so we can make sure to attend to all the details. And it will also be an opportunity for us to once again check our alignment and authenticity. Are you putting out there what you really feel and believe in, or, are you doing so to impress others and make yourself look better?
Venus the planet of love, beauty and money moves out of Taurus where she has been languishing and encouraging us all to strengthen our personal values and ethics so we can be as authentic and “real” as possible, and into Gemini. Venus in Gemini is bringing excitement, variety and intensity to our personal needs and beliefs. So, watch out for spontaneous and even headstrong behaviour that may be encouraged by a need for the finer things in life and wanting to move up in the world in some way.
Now, not only is Mercury moving into Retrograde motion during Cancer Season but so are Saturn in Aries and Neptune also in Aries. The big planets move into Retrograde motion once every year and they tend to stay there for around 5 months. This gives us ample time to discover what we may have missed, what is going on inside that may be different to what we are presenting outside, and where we may need to be more focused, disciplined and honour our higher consciousness. Remember both Saturn and Neptune have come out of illusional and dreamy Pisces where they were heling you to create your dream, align your intuition and know your highest purpose and now that they are in action driven Aries, its time to make these things real. But nothing can be real or last the distance if its not built on concrete foundations.
So, LOTS happening over this next month and much to be aware of. It’s hard to believe that we are half way through 2025 and the rest of the year will be equally busy – but in a different way. No more of the big planets will be changing signs until 2026, so there will be some stability there. But because the likes of Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus are all only at the very beginning of their new zodiac signs, things will be unpredictable and feel off centre until they settle in. My advice is to stay in your own energy as much as you can. As we are all aware the world is a very chaotic and changeable place right now and so it is essential that we all OBSERVE AND DO NOT ABSORB! Hold strong in your beliefs and in your love and light and do know that as upsetting and horrific as it is out there in the world right now, everything is happening exactly as its supposed too. We all know the world is broken and we also know that we cannot re-build it on the current structures and foundations as they too are broken. So, its time for radical change and transformation and we all have a role to play in this. If you don’t like what is going on around you don’t buy into it, don’t talk about it and don’t get involved in it. Stay in your peace and honesty and send love and light to all that is not aligned with the highest good of our planet and all who reside here.
