Welcome to Cancer Season! YAY it’s my birthday month and a whole new circle around the Sun for me!
We have now left the busyness and communicative energy of Gemini and moved into the compassionate and sensitive energy of Cancer.
As the Sun enters Cancer this year it meets Mercury and Jupiter already sitting here. Venus left Cancer just a week or two ago and so it’s as if the stage has already been set with the energy of Cancer to welcome the Sun in today, to bring our primary focus to Cancerian energy and all that that represents to us and teaches us.
Cancer Season – a time to nourish and nurture YOU
Cancer Season is a time to nourish and nurture ourselves and to make efforts and take positive steps towards the ultimate Cancerian goal – self-love. When we are under the influence of Cancer we are being encouraged and asked to look to where we need to learn to put ourselves first, to honour ourselves and to develop enough self-love that we don’t need the love of others to feel fulfilled and secure. It’s a big task as we are all so conditioned to want, need and expect love from those that we love, want and need, and too often we sacrifice ourselves and our own inner peace, to satisfy someone else’s needs for the same.
So, my greatest piece of advice to you all for Cancer Season is to practise nurturing, caring for, looking after and honouring wonderful beautiful YOU. This is a time where we can all really learn to understand that unless we fill our own glasses first, we will never have enough to share and give to others. Too often, and especially all of you Cancerians out there, you define yourself and rate yourself based on how needed and necessary you are in the lives of those around you. Cancerians love and often live to be needed. Wherever the Cancerian energy sits in your Natal Chart will be where you may be giving too much of your energy away; where you see the needs and want of others as being more important than your own; and where you may always feel a little bit less important or significant than others.
Mercury moved into Cancer on 2 June and will remain in this energy until 25 August 2026. This is an extra-long transit for Mercury due to the fact that he will move into Retrograde motion in Cancer from 30 June until 23 July 2026. I feel that this lengthy transit will be a wonderful safety net for the work we all need to do on our self-love and self-worth this Solar month. Mercury rules communication and so while he is Direct in Cancer we are sharing our energy and looking to the needs of others, hopefully in a healthy and not dysfunctional way, and when he is in Retrograde, we go within to really look at our self-love issues and what gets in the way of you being able to fully and unconditionally love yourself.
On 30 June 2026 we also have a Full Moon in Capricorn. This creates an even more purposeful and aligned energy for making things happen and setting a course moving forward based on what is important to you at this time. It is also the final day of Jupiter in Cancer before he moves into Leo on 1 July 2026.
Full Moon in Capricorn – clarity and focus
Capricorn is the polar opposite to Cancer and when the Sun and Moon oppose one another we not only get a Full Moon, but we get to see both sides of something and this tends to bring things to a head in some way. This Full Moon is about stepping into your ambition and your structure. It takes the emotions and intuition of Cancer and adds some good old fashioned grounding, discipline and focus to this energy therefore enabling us to use our intuition and emotional bodies in a way that is practical and useful for us. Full Moons bring things to fruition, so at the time of this Full Moon you may find that you will have success in some project or career objective you have been working on. Or, you may find that this Full Moon gives you the clarity and understanding you need to see things from a more practical and down to earth perspective, rather than being too caught up in how it is all making you feel.
Jupiter has been transiting through Cancer from 10 June 2025 until 30 June 2026 and this has been a time for growth and expansion of the heart and all that we hold dear to ourselves. But, as benevolent and helpful as Jupiter is in his workings, he is also driven to bring to the surface and expose anything that needs to see the light of day. Therefore, this transit has resulted in a lot of people questioning their relationships as to whether they are actually aligned with who you truly are. Authenticity and sovereignty are the themes of 2026 and to step fully into either of these energies we have to be honest with ourselves and put our own needs first. It is too easy under the influence of Cancer to be the eternal “earth mother”, the one who always gives, supports and takes care of things. And too often you forget that YOU are the most important person in the world. So this transit has been an eye-opener and activator for many to seek a better alignment with not only who they truly are, but in all that they do from this perspective.
From 1 July 2026 until 26 July 2027 Jupiter will transit through Leo bringing growth and expansion in our abilities to lead, to create, to express ourselves and to have more confidence and courage to be all that we can be. This is a time to be utterly and unapologetically YOU and to inspire others because of this and because of your loyalty, optimism and zest for life.
Venus moved into Leo on the 14th of June and will be there until 9 July 2026. So, she only joins Jupiter for a very brief time in Leo but it will be enough time for her to bring her higher values relating to love, beauty and money, into play as Jupiter does his great expansion of all of this. Venus and Jupiter both expand upon what is for our highest good and allow us to put a higher worth on ourselves by helping us to see how much we have to offer and how our values define how and when we will allow this.
Personal values
Venus will move into Virgo from 10 July until 6 August 2026 and this will bring even more attention to our personal values and also our personal hygiene. By personal hygiene I mean not just washing our hands more often, I mean the personal hygiene we all need to exercise in our minds and hearts. Time to clear out all the toxic thoughts, beliefs and words that are keeping you small and allow yourself to really align with what is important to you and that which helps you to grow in love and appreciation for yourself in every way.
The other BIG mover this month is Chiron moving out of Aries and into Taurus from 19 June 2026 until 15 April 2034. This is a BIG DEAL as Chiron plays such an important role in our lives regarding all the deep wounds we are here to heal within ourselves. Once we have mastered these this is where we then have the ability to heal and teach others through our own experiences.
Chiron, the wounded healer, has just finished his transit through Aries which was 7 years of all of us being challenged in our self-belief. We all had to face challenges in our ability to lead others; to stand on our own two feet; and/or to believe we could go it and do it alone. This was not an easy transit for anyone, as we all have our insecurities and our fears that we are not good enough, and so we were all presented with experiences and opportunities to prove otherwise to ourselves. This was not about shouting out to the world that you can do anything, this was about you gently but firmly telling yourself that you are enough; you are worthwhile; you are capable and you can support yourself.
Now we will have 7 years of Chiron transiting Taurus bringing up big life lessons for us all in the areas of security, physical comfort, self-esteem, forgiveness and letting go. Under this influence we will be redefining security and what that actually means to you and our life. If you have been living under the belief that true security can only come in the way of big fat salary, a fancy car, a beautiful home and a successful career, then you might be in for a bit of a shake up with this transit. True security is and always will be INNER PEACE, and this is what this transit will teach us all – one way or another.
On 30 June 2026 we also have a Full Moon in Capricorn. And last but not least, on 29 June Mars moves into Gemini until 11 August 2026. Mars in Gemini can take busyness to the next level as Mars, once he gets going, often does not know how or when to stop, and Gemini is the busiest and most curious sign of the zodiac. The biggest challenge with this transit will be how much it offers us in opportunities and experiences, as we can’t do it all. And under the influence of Gemini we can find ourselves starting but not finishing many projects and goals. Remember we also have the mighty planet of change, Uranus, sitting in Gemini and bringing sudden and unexpected shifts and turns as well as reminding us all of our need to think for ourselves and to step into our innovation and ingenuousness.
And one last major cosmic shift in July will be the North Node, our destiny and potential, moving out of Pisces and into Aquarius for the first time in around 18 years. The last time the North Node transited through Aquarius was between December 2007 and August 2009. Personal alignment = personal freedom and fulfilment
All in all July will be a BIG month. With several planets settling into their new zodiac signs and bringing powerful new energies for us to work with and be affected by, its going to be A LOT. But you’ve got this! Remember that we are in a powerful time of major planetary shifts and changes and for each of us to navigate it successfully we must be aligned with who we truly are. We can no longer be dancing to someone else’s drumbeat, following somebody else’s dream or just involving ourselves in things that do not bring out the best in us. For the earth plane and humanity to change and ascend out of the mess that it is in, we must first be strong, aligned and loving within ourselves and from there we take it out to the world.
