On 26 May 2021, we have a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius opposing the Sun in Gemini and squaring Jupiter in Pisces.
Firstly, Full Moons, as we know, bring things to a head or to fruition. Everything comes to the surface at a Full Moon to be released, harvested and moved on from. Full Moons can be challenging times as the Moon represents our emotions so for the most part, at the Full Moon it is our emotions that come to the surface to be revealed and released. Our emotions are often what dictate our actions: “The thought creates the emotion that then creates the action”. When a Full Moon falls in the astrological sign of Sagittarius, we can expect that our mind and emotions will be expanded upon, and this can be both very fruitful and useful for us, as we can see and use this energy to raise our ideals, to open our minds and to grow our thoughts and dreams into reality. However, there is always the shadow side as well, and this brings with it idealism that is too far removed from reality, minds that are only open to the ideas YOU wish to know and the need to have complete control over what we will allow ourselves to explore, discover and believe.
Lunar Eclipses tend to instigate and indicate endings. Under the influence of a Lunar Eclipse much can be brought to the surface to be resolved one way or another, and more often than not, old emotional issues come up (whether you intend them to or not) and can once and for all be put to rest. Decisions made at the time of any Eclipse are often considered to be carved in concrete and so at this Lunar eclipse in Sagittarius we all need to be very careful what we say and how we act! Sagittarian energy is all about truth-seeking, control and expansion. It is a powerful and intelligent energy that seeks to explore, learn and grow through all that it comes in contact with. So, when it hits the Moon and our world of emotions, that is what is going to be expanded on.
Sagittarius is also ruled by Jupiter, and at the time of this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, the Moon will be squaring Jupiter, which will most definitely be challenging how we deal with our need to be in control, our need to see the truth and our ability to grow through this. Therefore, it will be very easy at this time to become stuck in “I’m right and you are wrong” and/or “I have to be in control of everything and I will not relinquish this” behaviour. The square to Jupiter will most certainly reveal both globally and personally to us some hidden truths and it will expose aspects of life and of ourselves that have up until now perhaps been hidden from view. The Sagittarian Full Moon is in direct opposition to the Gemini Sun. Sagittarius seeks the truth and knowledge and uses this to strengthen itself. Gemini energy also seeks knowledge but has a more demanding imagination and has the powerful ability to embellish or invent knowledge. Therefore, at this time the truth can easily be twisted or manipulated to fit our own agendas.
And on top of this super-powerful Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius, we have Mercury Retrograde just around the corner too. So, double the reason to be VERY careful what you commit to at this time. The earth plane is being flooded with a lot of Air energy now, and up until the end of last year, we had had years and years of Earth energy. Earth energy keeps things much the same, we have our structures and traditions and ways that we have always done things to date. Whereas Air energy is all about imagination and thinking and so we have gone from feeling like it was completely normal to accept and work with the status quo, to suddenly being confronted with alternatives to the normal and other ways that things could be structured or worked with. Suddenly our opinions can seem very different to those of others, and suddenly information that didn’t resonate before suddenly does make sense etc, etc. Sagittarius is a Fire Sign, so when all of our thoughts get fired up, we can all get very emotional and tend to want to start or end things with finality. I would advise you to give thought to your actions rather than action to your thoughts at this time.
And if all of that isn’t enough for us to deal with, Saturn our teacher and disciplinarian has just moved into Retrograde motion in Aquarius. When the planet of focus and hard work moves inwards, we will all find ourselves confronted by our inner rebel as well as those parts of us that make us feel like we don’t fit in or are different to others. This can be a very uncomfortable time if you are not willing to meet and embrace these parts of yourself. We are all unique and special souls, all on our own individual soul journeys, and the more we can celebrate and enjoy ALL parts of us, the more we have to offer the world. Aquarian energy is here to change the world and we are well and truly now into the Age of Aquarius. And so, don’t be afraid to show who you are, to expose what you really think and to dance to your own drumbeat. But most of all, make friends with ALL of you; accept yourself flaws and all, and don’t be afraid to be who you truly are. This 5-month Retrograde transit can be very useful to explore your potential and to allow you to see what you bring to the earth plane at this pivotal time of massive transformation and awakening.
But, to end on a positive note. The energy of Sagittarius is full of fun, adventure and curiosity too. So, this is a wonderful time for all of us to expand on our knowledge; to look to learn, educate ourselves or take on new experiences that appeal to our minds and to our ability to challenge ourselves to be better versions of ourselves. The square to Jupiter can expand upon that as well as bring a dose of magic and spiritual awareness to how we wish to grow and what we wish to learn and move forward with also. The opposition to the Gemini Sun brings fire and passion to our imaginations and dreams and gives us the ability to communicate such things so as we can share in the expansion of our minds and abilities. And Saturn Retrograde in Aquarius is immersing you in your inner world of innovation and uniqueness so as you can develop the confidence to share this with the world.
